Beschrijving

In this episode, I walk through every film I’ve made — from my first student chaos to the haunted quiet of Dancing on my own. From Sweet Madness and the continuous noise in film school to my solo horror experiments with Girls Night and beyond, this is the story of how every short became a mirror, a mistake, and a survival tool. It’s not a filmography. It’s a confession through frames. So yeah — come hang out. Whether you're a filmmaker, a horror lover, or just curious about how someone makes movies alone in the dark — this one’s for you. And as always, this is a safe space. I’m figuring it all out as I go, and you’re welcome to do the same right here with me. 👻 Follow me on Instagram: @dancingonmyownpodcast @davidxteixeirafilm

"Girls Night" Through Their Eyes

In this episode, I do something a little different — I read reviews of my first two short horror films, Girls Night and Girls Night 2. Some are kind. Some are… not so much. But all of them matter, and are super interesting! I go through what people have written on websites and Letterboxd, and talk about how it feels to see your work reflected through someone else’s eyes — the praise, the critique, the misunderstandings, and the unexpected kindness. This isn’t about defending or explaining the films. It’s about learning, laughing a bit, and being honest about what it means to grow as an artist when your work starts to live its own life online. If you’re a filmmaker, a horror fan, or just curious about what happens after you hit “upload,” this one’s for you. Let’s read, reflect, and maybe scream a little together. 👻 Follow me on Instagram: @dancingonmyownpodcast @davidxteixeirafilm

Dancing with the noise

In this episode, I open the door into Dancing on my own — the short film that became both a diary and a flashlight. I talk about how it came to life, what I was trying to communicate, and how much of myself still lives inside every frame. Then we shift inward. I explore borderline personality disorder and bipolar II — not as labels, but as languages I’m still learning to speak. I read through articles, reflect in real time, and try to understand how these words map onto my everyday thoughts, fears, and sparks of joy. It’s filmmaking mixed with self-study. Cinema and brain chemistry. A conversation about the stories we tell on-screen… and the ones we’re still trying to tell inside ourselves. If any of that feels familiar — welcome. Let’s figure it out together in the dark. 👻 Follow me on Instagram: @dancingonmyownpodcast @davidxteixeirafilm
