1. The Importance of Feeling Your Inner Victim After an Abusive Relationship

In this first Episode I share a bit of my own story and how trying so hard to not feel like a victim turned out to be a flawed approach. Shame and embarrassment of having been or being in an abusive relationship cannot only rob you of crucial steps of grieving and healing, it also often deprives you from getting the felt sense of support and understanding from the outside.  It’s not about staying in an disempowered state or getting stuck in a victim mentality. It’s about giving permission to feel all aspects of ourselves in these complex experiences.  And, being taken advantage of, having been hurt, let down, manipulated, lied to, abused emotionally or otherwise are certainly experiences that need to be felt in their entirety, including the helplessness and powerlessness, or rage and anger of having been the victim of abuse. If this is resonating, I wish for you... step by step... to let the integration and feeling of shame be one of the many parts of your healing journey. Go slow. Know, it’s not linear. And find support!  Find me on Instagram @sandratreydte [https://www.instagram.com/sandratreydte/] or through my website [https://www.sandratreydte.com]. I'd love to hear from you.
