Fortnite Tournament, May 29th
The City of Montgomery Parks and Recreation is hosting a Fortnite Tournament at the Chisolm Community Center – May 29th from 5-9pm
Nelson Jancaterino, Director of the Chisholm Community Center, and George Boatneg, Recreation Aide specializing in ESports at the Chisholm Community Center. The event is open to participants ages 13 and up, with check-in and warm-ups beginning at 4:30 p.m. Designed to bring local gamers together in a fun and competitive environment, the tournament invites participants to play on PC, PlayStation 5, or Xbox. The $10 entry fee includes tournament registration, one slice of pizza, and a drink. Players will compete for the grand prize: a SteelSeries Arctis Nova 5 Wireless Gaming Headset. Doors will close strictly at 5 p.m., and late arrivals will forfeit their opportunity to participate. Security personnel will be on-site throughout the event to ensure a safe environment. All players must follow the official MGM Esports Rulebook, which enforces zero-tolerance policies for toxic behavior and property damage. The tournament will feature a 20-player double-elimination bracket, with competitors permitted to bring personal keyboards, mice, or standard controllers. All equipment is subject to inspection during the 4:30 p.m. check-in window. This is a lock-in style event; once the tournament begins at 5:15 p.m., the venue will be closed to outside guests. Participants under age 16 must be accompanied by a guardian age 21 or older.
