A Faithful Priest

Journey back to the beginning of Samuel. God wanted a Faithful Priest and he had one in mind. Hannah makes the ultimate sacrifice and fulfills her vow. Unlike Eli's sons, Samuel is on the fast track to the priesthood.

Saul Proclaimed King

We catch up with Saul and he has his first test as a king. The Ammonites have surrounded Jabesh. Saul calls to arms and all of Israel are on one accord. Will Saul be successful or will he lose his first fight as king?

God Choses Saul

We pick up with Israel asking for a king. Saul is extremely handsome and taller than most. He’s on a journey in search of his father’s three donkeys. He arrives in Ramah looking for a seer who will assist him. God has made Samuel aware that Saul is on his way and what his plans are for him. Join Saul on the road to becoming king.

Give Us A King!!!

The Israelites demand a king like the surrounding nations. Though God's feelings were hurt, He wanted to give Israel what it wanted. Samuel gave them the attributes of the king's behavior and actions of the king that would rule them. Still, they wanted a human king that would go before them in wartime. They had no idea of the consequences of their request.

Eli and His Belial Sons

We take a trip through the 1st Book of Samuel with Eli, Hophni, and Phinehas. Eli is the typical father with the typical thought, “Boys will be boys.” The problem is that the boys are now men and priests. Eli teaches his sons the customary rituals of serving God, but he neglects to assist them in having a relationship with God. Hophni and Phinehas are out of control. They make God so angry that he threatens to kill them and the males will not reach old age. Do you think that would stop them or put a fire under Eli? Nope. This is a cautionary tale of what is happening in society today with children. Children are not being disciplined and as a direct result, we have children deleting themselves and others, having no respect for authority, and other horrific activities.
