We talk about: * The danger of listening to voices other than God’s * The importance of standing firm in God’s word, no matter what * How God’s power is sovereign and unchallenged * The real-life impact of following God’s instructions—obedience brings life, while disobedience brings consequences. If you've ever faced a situation where God's instructions didn’t make sense or seemed counterintuitive, this episode will encourage you to trust in His guidance. episode Before You Build, God Says DO THIS! artwork

Before You Build, God Says DO THIS!

In this episode of the Just a Disciple Podcast, I dive into Proverbs 24:27 and share a powerful message about the importance of preparing your outside work before focusing on building your "house." I reflect on my own journey, especially as my family and I have been considering building a home, and how this verse stopped me in my tracks. It reminded me that while it's easy to get fixated on the big picture (the house), we can’t overlook the foundational work that needs to happen first. I challenge you to think about this: What outside work needs your attention right now? Are you focusing on developing the skills and mindset that will support the life you're building? Are you making sure you’re ready to handle the blessings God has for you? I also talk about how it's crucial to make the work fit for yourself, not comparing your journey to others. It’s all about focusing on God’s unique purpose for your life, not someone else’s path. I'll discuss the importance of "tilling the land" — doing the hard work, even when you don’t see immediate results — and how avoiding frivolous pursuits can keep you aligned with God’s plan. Tune in for a word of encouragement as I explore how to stay focused on what truly matters and how to prepare for the future God is calling you to build. Scripture References: * Proverbs 24:27 – "Prepare your outside work, make it fit for yourself in the field, and afterward build your house." * Proverbs 28:19 – "He who tills his land will have plenty of bread, but he who follows frivolous ways will have poverty enough." Episode Highlights: * What "outside work" do you need to focus on in your life? * How to stay true to God’s purpose for you and stop comparing yourself to others. * The importance of "tilling the land" and working hard to see a harvest. * Why you need to avoid frivolous pursuits that won’t lead you to your God-given purpose. Join me as I encourage you to prepare well for the future God has for you — one step at a time. Peace, love, and joy! ✌️

episode God's Plan vs "The Numbers" artwork

God's Plan vs "The Numbers"

In this episode, we discuss a powerful lesson from 1 Chronicles 21, where King David, despite his many victories, is challenged by a moment of pride and the desire to "count the numbers." We look at how God values our faithfulness over our results and how we are called to trust Him in our process, regardless of the outcome. Drawing from the example of Isaiah, we explore how God may call us to keep going even when success doesn’t look like what we expect. If you’ve ever felt discouraged by the lack of visible progress or obsessed over numbers—whether in your ministry, career, or personal life—this episode is for you. We’ll remind you that God is in control, and that true success is found in obedience to His calling, not the numbers you can count. Be encouraged, keep moving forward, and remember: You are called to be a light, no matter what the results look like.

episode The Secret of Contentment artwork

The Secret of Contentment

In this episode, we dive deep into the true meaning of contentment in God's kingdom. While the world often defines greatness by achievements and success, God sees greatness in our ability to remain content, no matter our circumstances. Contentment isn’t about settling for less, but about trusting God fully and finding peace and joy in every season of life. We explore powerful scriptures like Philippians 4:11-13, Ecclesiastes 7:14, and Romans 8:26-30, discussing how contentment strengthens us in both prosperity and adversity. Whether you’re on the mountaintop or in the valley, contentment helps us stay grounded in God’s purpose for our lives—becoming more like Christ. In a culture that celebrates constant striving, we take a moment to reflect on the power of contentment to bring joy, peace, and trust in God’s provision. We also discuss how to stop comparing your journey to others and instead embrace the unique purpose God has designed for you. Join us as we uncover the secret of contentment and how it can transform your spiritual walk, no matter the circumstances. God’s plan for you is good, and He is faithful to provide everything you need.
