"Sometimes we just need a soft reminder that we can ground ourselves in any moment, a sense of depth, something to hold onto, just a taste, just a touch, just a glance, just a sound, or just a scent to ease our minds, to remind us that the ones we love are always there." With my own need for a fresh start in 2020, my love of New Year’s Eve came to mind and I thought what better way to challenge my mindset than to host a night in, a virtual pretend New Year’s Eve party to end the month of March, and to see April as a fresh start no matter where we are in our journey. Now more than ever, I feel like the world is searching for ways to ground all of us in the present, in the positives of this situation, to find the magic in this moment as a way to take care of our emotions. So as a way to ease my own mind, I began searching for ways to fall in love with the beauty in life’s quiet moments spent away from the world, to find adventure with what I have at home, and to stay connected to the ones I love. So I challenge you, on March 31st to throw out the world’s timeline and make your own. All we have is this moment, so pull out the champagne, make the last day of this month New Year’s Eve, and let midnight give you the fresh start I think we are all craving. There is always magic to be found in this moment and ways to stay connected even when we can’t be together, and for me, a pretend New Year’s Eve is my own little reminder that I don’t need to wait for a fresh start to celebrate, that I can create one whenever I need it. Every month, every day, every moment can be a new beginning. My journey has been far from perfect, it’s been a struggle for a really long time, but someone I know inspired me to dance in the rain, even in when it won’t stop pouring. This moment is the destination, your lover, so let’s fall deeply in love.
