Psalm 40: When The Pit Becomes The Platform | Matthew Maher | Landmark Church

What do you do when life feels like a pit? In Psalm 40, David testifies of crying out to God from the miry clay — and discovering that the same God who hears us in the pit is able to lift us onto the rock. What began with waiting eventually turned into worship, proclamation, and renewed dependence upon the Lord. In this message, “When The Pit Becomes The Platform,” we walk through: • Waiting on God in difficult seasons • How God turns pain into testimony • The Messianic picture of Christ in Psalm 40 • Obedience over empty sacrifice • Why transformed lives become testifying lives • How to trust God’s justice without becoming bitter • The rhythm of the Christian life: the pit, the praise, the proclamation, and the plea Psalm 40 reminds us that God not only brings His people out of pits — He puts a new song in their mouths. “The same God who heard David in the pit ultimately sent Christ into our pit so we could be brought into His presence.” Be sure to subscribe to the Landmark Church YouTube Channel and wherever you access podcasts to stay updated on all upcoming sermons. episode Strong Foundations, Transformed Lives, Lasting Impact | Proverbs 14 |Terence Sikoryak artwork

Strong Foundations, Transformed Lives, Lasting Impact | Proverbs 14 |Terence Sikoryak

This message from Proverbs 14 is a call to live intentionally “in the time remaining,” recognizing that every decision is either building a strong future or weakening it. The sermon explores three movements of wisdom: building a solid foundation, experiencing personal transformation, and multiplying lasting impact into others. It challenges listeners to confront unresolved wounds, self-deception, careless speech, and spiritual drift before those patterns become generational burdens. Through biblical wisdom, practical examples, and reflections on leadership, repentance, and integrity, the message emphasizes that transformation is not accidental—it is the result of disciplined, truthful, and God-centered living. Ultimately, the sermon asks a defining question: What kind of legacy will your life leave behind? Signs of the Times: Shaken Foundations: May 17, 1776 - 250 Years Later | Hebrews 12:25-28 | M. Maher

America was born in a moment of shaking. On May 17, 1776, before independence was declared, the Continental Congress called the nation to humiliation, fasting, repentance, and prayer — asking God to establish America upon “a solid and lasting foundation.” Now, 250 years later, we again find ourselves in a time of shaking: political shaking | moral shaking | cultural shaking | spiritual shaking. Hebrews 12 reminds us that God allows shaking so that what cannot be shaken may remain. When the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do? Like Nehemiah — rebuild the wall. Like Ezekiel — stand watch on the wall. Like Esther — intercede in the gap of the wall. Like Daniel — discern the writing on the wall. This Signs of the Times message explores America’s foundations, the dangers of false foundations, and the unshakable Kingdom of Christ. Scripture: Hebrews 12:25–28 Psalm 11:3 Matthew 7:24–27 Be sure to subscribe to the Landmark Church YouTube Channel and wherever you access podcasts to stay updated on all upcoming sermons. episode The Question At The End of the World — Who Can Stand? (The 6th Seal) | Revelation 6:12-17 | M. Maher artwork

The Question At The End of the World — Who Can Stand? (The 6th Seal) | Revelation 6:12-17 | M. Maher

When the Lamb opens the sixth seal, the world doesn’t just watch judgment happen on earth—the earth itself begins to collapse. The sun turns black. The moon becomes like blood. The stars fall. Mountains shake. The sky recedes like a scroll. What began with deception in the first seal now erupts into cosmic unraveling. But Revelation 6 is more than apocalyptic imagery. It is a moment of recognition. Humanity knows exactly what is happening. They do not cry out for forgiveness—they cry out to hide from “the wrath of the Lamb.” The same Lamb who came first in mercy is now revealed in judgment. In this message, Pastor Matthew Maher walks through: • The Sixth Seal and cosmic collapse • “De-creation” language from Genesis to Revelation • The prophetic significance of the sun, moon, and stars • Why the earth shakes when God reveals Himself • The shocking phrase: “the wrath of the Lamb” • Why people flee from God’s presence instead of seeking Him • The question Revelation leaves us with: “Who is able to stand?” What the prophets warned…what Jesus confirmed…Revelation reveals. And when everything that can be shaken is shaken, only what is in Christ will remain. episode The Father’s Way: The Standard for Kingdom Life | Nick Johnson artwork

The Father’s Way: The Standard for Kingdom Life | Nick Johnson

This sermon introduces the Sermon on the Mount by tracing the biblical calling of humanity to image God through steadfast love and faithfulness. God reveals His own character to Moses as abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness, then creates mankind in His image to reflect that character and represent His rule in covenant relationship. Yet Adam, Noah, Abraham, Israel, David, and David’s sons all fall short, creating the need for one faithful Son who can fulfill what every covenant son failed to become. Matthew presents Jesus as that faithful Son-King: the Son of David, Son of Abraham, beloved Son, and obedient Son who perfectly represents the Father. Therefore, in the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus teaches His people the kingdom ethic: heart-level obedience that displays the Father’s character so that His name is hallowed, His kingdom comes, and His will is done on earth as it is in heaven.
