Rev. Syd Yang, MDiv (they/them) is a mixed race/Taiwanese American queer trans/non-binary lay Buddhist Minister and spiritual counselor who engages decolonial possibilities for shared liberation through their practice, Blue Jaguar Healing Arts. Syd is also a certified Movement Chaplain through Faith Matters Network. Syd’s work finds its resonance in the stories we each hold at the intersection of memory, body, sexuality and mental health. Syd works primarily with queer and trans BIPOC individuals as well as regularly leads workshops and facilitates community based practice spaces for wellbeing + healing justice, with a specific focus on grief, healing ancestral trauma, sexuality + spirituality, body liberation and recovery. Syd recently co-founded the Throughline Collective, a spiritually expansive and anti-carceral trauma care practice rooted in Buddhist teaching.

Dr. Ren (she/they) is a licensed clinical and school psychologist, consultant, speaker and educator. She is deeply rooted in liberation and anti-oppressive work, practicing from a justice-oriented, interpersonal, culturally-humble, and systems-informed framework. Through their widely viewed content on social media, they strive to make mental health accessible and applicable to our daily lives. Dr. Ren addresses the pursuit of collective healing through her work centered in historically overlooked communities, especially Asian-Americans and children of immigrants. She has been featured on the TEDx stage, the Headspace app, Buzzfeed, and the Huffington Post. When she’s not in the therapy chair, you can find her laughing with family and friends, caffeinating with black coffee, dancing offbeat to live music and Peloton-ing.
