In chapter 8, we follow Curdie as he stumbles upon the goblins’ hidden world. By chance, he overhears their secret conversations and uncovers a dark plot brewing beneath the mountain. It’s here that Curdie realizes the danger threatening the kingdom—and that he may be the only one who can stop it.

Chapter 7- The Mines

Welcome back to our journey through George MacDonald’s The Princess and the Goblin. Today, we’re heading underground—deep into the dark, winding mines where the goblins make their home.
