A lavish, slow-burn eight episode thriller set in New Orleans and Metairie that blends Southern decadence with international intrigue. Two brothers, Lucien Devereaux (older) and Marc Devereaux (younger), grow up in the social orbit of old-money restaurant and construction dynasties. Lucien is the celebrated social prince of Mardi Gras; Marc is the quieter, meticulous observer who married Sophie Hart, a brilliant New York–bred lawyer. The family life is sumptuous: Commander's Palace banquets, shrimp po’boys at Radosta’s, second-line parades, Upstairs balconies in the Garden District, and tailgates at Newman High. Beneath the glitter is a cold, modular criminal commerce run by Sophie: subcontractor skimming, hotel extortion, and a rare-antiques trafficking pipeline using river warehouses. Sophie's ring has bought silence from half the elected officials and much of the police force. Marc’s suspicion grows; a voodoo priestess plants the seed. The Rothschilds, wielding quiet power, dispatch a former MI6 officer, Julian March, to dismantle the ring. He operates as an elegant British billionaire; through Highclere research, an earl and an incidental royal visit, and perfectly-timed sting craft, he collapses Sophie’s empire without public spectacle. In the aftermath Sophie keeps her legal credentials and family life, stripped of criminal avenues, but the human cost lingers. The series blends James Bond finesse with Southern atmosphere, finishing with moral reckonings and an ambiguous note for a sequel.
