Dare Wright was an extraordinary story teller & photographer , and also an actress & model, who single handedly changed the genre of Children's literature in 1957 when she published her first of 10, Lonely Doll books. In 1957, she photographed her childhood Lenci doll [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lenci_doll], Edith, along with two teddy bears [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Teddy_bear] bought at FAO Schwarz [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FAO_Schwarz], for her first Lonely Doll book.The book made The New York Times Best Seller list [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_New_York_Times_Best_Seller_list] for children's books and In November 2010, The British Newspaper The Guardian [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Guardian] named The Lonely Doll one of the 10 Best Illustrated Children's Books of all time.We Concur!   But, sadly, Dare's life and relationships were complicated and trying.
