Romans - Part 15 - God's Choice

In this episode of our Romans series, we dive into Chapter 9 to explore Paul’s deep anguish for his Jewish brothers and sisters who, despite their rich spiritual heritage, are missing salvation by trying to earn it through the Law. Just as physical descent from Abraham does not automatically guarantee inclusion in God's family, Paul reminds us that we cannot rely on a "Christian-by-default" identity or our own religious performance to save us. Salvation is entirely a work of God’s sovereign initiative, mercy, and grace—a truth that demands our deepest reverence. Ultimately, we are challenged to stop trying to navigate the spiritual map through our own exhausting efforts and instead place our absolute, humbling trust in Jesus, the true rock of our salvation who promises that anyone who relies on Him will never be disgraced.

We explore the powerful metaphor of slavery and the reality that we are all "slaves" to whatever we choose to obey—whether that is sin leading to death, or obedience leading to righteousness.
