About Stuck in Your Head: Songs to Learn Spanish

Stuck in Your Head: Songs to Learn Spanish is a beginner Spanish podcast built around short, catchy songs designed to lodge real Spanish phrases directly into your memory. If you've tried apps, flashcards, and Spanish lessons and still freeze when it's time to actually speak, this is for you. Instead of studying, you'll repeat. Instead of memorizing rules, you'll sing phrases until they come out automatically. Each episode follows or is inspired by The Layers Method, a proven approach to conversational Spanish that focuses on the high-frequency words real people actually use and the only thing that finally helped me actually speak Speak Spanish to real people. I'm just a student there, not a teacher but wanted to supplement the magic of the lessons with songs. I'm learning alongside you and want to share this for those that love a catchy hook. Repetitive. Real. Spanish phrases that stick. Perfect for: beginners, expats in Spain, travelers, auditory learners, and anyone who's tired of studying Spanish without ever speaking it. You can find the The Layers Method community I am learning Spanish in, linked in every episode. Learn Spanish through music and the top 300 words that will give you the world.

We built these up one at a time. How to say it when you're missing a word. How to ask where something is. How to invite someone to come with you. And the little politeness words that open every door in Spain. This song puts them all in one place, all in Spanish, so you can hear how they string together in a real day. Café, street, getting lost, making plans. Press play and let the whole survival kit get stuck in your head at once. | per-doh-nah meh pweh-des ah-yoo-dahr | Excuse me, can you help me? Hablo poco, pero voy a hablar | ah-bloh poh-koh peh-roh boy ah ah-blahr | I speak a little, but I'm going to speak Poco a poco, cada día | poh-koh ah poh-koh kah-dah dee-ah | Little by little, every day ¿Cómo se dice? | koh-moh seh dee-seh | How do you say? No sé la palabra | noh seh lah pah-lah-brah | I don't know the word Más despacio | mahs des-pah-syoh | Slower ¿Puedes repetir? | pweh-des reh-peh-teer | Can you repeat? ¿Dónde está el baño? | dohn-deh es-tah el bah-nyoh | Where is the bathroom? ¿Dónde está el mar? | dohn-deh es-tah el mahr | Where is the sea? Puedo preguntar | pweh-doh preh-goon-tahr | I can ask Está por aquí / por allí | es-tah por ah-kee / por ah-yee | It's around here / over there Lo voy a encontrar | loh boy ah en-kon-trahr | I'm going to find it Quiero ir contigo | kyeh-roh eer kon-tee-goh | I want to go with you ¿Quieres ir conmigo? | kyeh-res eer kon-mee-goh | Do you want to go with me? Why this matters One good day of travel Spanish runs on a surprisingly short list. Greet people. Ask how to say the word you're missing. Ask where things are. Make a plan with someone. That's most of it. This medley puts all of that in a single loop so the phrases live next to each other in your memory, the way they'll actually come up in real life. And the line to hold onto is right there in the chorus: hablo poco, pero voy a hablar. I speak a little, but I'm going to speak. Usage tip Use this one as your warm-up. Play it on the walk to the café or before you head out for the day, and let the chorus set the tone: poco a poco, cada día. You're not trying to say everything. You're saying a little, out loud, today. This is exactly how I'm learning inside The Layers Method on Skool — a small set of real phrases, on repeat, until they come out on their own. How To Say "I Want To Go With You" — Quiero Ir Contigo

If you want to learn how to speak Spanish check out the Layers Method HERE [https://www.skool.com/layersmethod/about?ref=bb309c98f57b4f1396f0ddbf25018f0e] Quiero (I want) and ir (to go) are two of the core verbs that real conversations are built on. Put them together and you can invite anyone, anywhere. I want to go. Do you want to go? Do you want to come with me? That's a whole social life in one little chorus. This one's a back-and-forth between two voices, so you can hear how the question and the answer fit together, then sing both sides yourself. Lyrics I want to go and I don't want to go alone Quiero ir y no quiero ir solo So I ask you now, will you come along? Así que te pregunto, ¿vienes conmigo? Quiero ir, quiero ir Quiero ir contigo ¿Quieres ir? ¿Quieres ir? ¿Quieres ir conmigo? Where do you want to go, the beach or the sea? ¿A dónde quieres ir, la playa o el mar? Tell me yes and let's go today Dime que sí y vamos ya Quiero ir, quiero ir Quiero ir contigo ¿Quieres ir? ¿Quieres ir? ¿Quieres ir conmigo? ¿Quieres venir conmigo? Sí, quiero ir contigo ¿Vamos ahora? Vamos, vamos, sí Quiero ir, quiero ir Quiero ir contigo ¿Quieres ir? ¿Quieres ir? ¿Quieres ir conmigo? Key phrases Quiero ir | kyeh-roh eer | I want to go Quiero ir contigo | kyeh-roh eer kon-tee-goh | I want to go with you ¿Quieres ir? | kyeh-res eer | Do you want to go? ¿Quieres ir conmigo? | kyeh-res eer kon-mee-goh | Do you want to go with me? No quiero ir solo | noh kyeh-roh eer soh-loh | I don't want to go alone ¿Vienes conmigo? | byeh-nes kon-mee-goh | Are you coming with me? ¿A dónde quieres ir? | ah dohn-deh kyeh-res eer | Where do you want to go? La playa | lah plah-yah | The beach El mar | el mahr | The sea Dime que sí | dee-meh keh see | Tell me yes Vamos ya | bah-mos yah | Let's go now ¿Quieres venir conmigo? | kyeh-res beh-neer kon-mee-goh | Do you want to come with me? ¿Vamos ahora? | bah-mos ah-oh-rah | Shall we go now? Why this matters Quiero and quieres are the same verb, just you and me. Once your ear catches that pattern — quiero for what I want, quieres for what you want — you can turn almost anything into an invitation. Add ir and you're making plans. Add contigo and conmigo (with you, with me) and it gets personal. These are tiny words that do enormous work in everyday Spanish, and they come up the second you start making real plans with real people. Usage tip Notice conmigo and contigo — they don't follow the usual "con + word" pattern, so it's worth letting the song drill them in until they feel automatic. Next time you want to invite someone anywhere, you already have the line: ¿Quieres ir conmigo? This is exactly the kind of phrase I'm learning inside The Layers Method on Skool — small words, used on repeat, until they come out on their own. if you want to actually SPEAK Spanish Join The Layers method HERE [https://www.skool.com/layersmethod/about?ref=bb309c98f57b4f1396f0ddbf25018f0e] This whole song is Spanish, start to finish, and that's the point. These are the words that come up every single day when you travel. Where's the bathroom. How much is it. A table for two. The bill, please. I don't understand, can you say it slower. You don't need a hundred phrases to get through a day in Spain. You need these, on a loop, until they come out without thinking. Press play, sing along, and let them get stuck. | meh pweh-des ah-yoo-dahr | Can you help me? ¿Dónde está el baño? | dohn-deh es-tah el bah-nyoh | Where is the bathroom? ¿Cuánto cuesta esto? | kwan-toh kwes-tah es-toh | How much does this cost? Una mesa para dos | oo-nah meh-sah pah-rah dohs | A table for two La cuenta, por favor | lah kwen-tah por fah-bor | The bill, please No entiendo muy bien | noh en-tyen-doh mwee byen | I don't understand very well ¿Puedes repetir? | pweh-des reh-peh-teer | Can you repeat? Más despacio | mahs des-pah-syoh | Slower Estoy aprendiendo | es-toy ah-pren-dyen-doh | I'm learning No pasa nada | noh pah-sah nah-dah | It's no problem Hablo poco, pero voy a hablar | ah-bloh poh-koh peh-roh boy ah ah-blahr | I speak a little, but I'm going to speak Why this matters Most days abroad run on the same short list of phrases. Not grammar, not big sentences, just the small stuff you say over and over: greet someone, ask where, ask how much, order, ask them to slow down. Learn this one song and you've got the core covered. And the last line of the chorus is the real one to hold onto: hablo poco, pero voy a hablar. I speak a little, but I'm going to speak. That's the whole attitude that gets you talking. Usage tip Lead with hola, gracias, por favor and perdona everywhere you go. They open every interaction and they buy you goodwill instantly. When you get stuck, drop in más despacio or ¿puedes repetir? and keep going. You're not aiming for perfect. You're aiming for said out loud. How To Say "Where Is It" In Spanish

Want to learn how to REALLy speak Spanish? Join HERE [https://www.skool.com/layersmethod/about?ref=bb309c98f57b4f1396f0ddbf25018f0e] This isn't a lesson. It's the phrase that gets you unlost anywhere in Spain. Before you even land, this is the one to have in your pocket. You'll need the bathroom, the beach, the shop, the station — and you don't need a full sentence to find any of them. You need three words and the thing you're looking for. ¿Dónde está el baño? ¿Dónde está la playa? Same phrase every time, you just swap the ending. Learn the chorus and you can ask for anything, anywhere, the second you step off the plane. Lyrics I'm a little lost and I don't know the way Estoy un poco perdida y no sé por dónde ir So I stop right here and I ask someone today Así que paro aquí y le pregunto a alguien ¿Dónde está? ¿Dónde está? No sé dónde está, pero puedo preguntar ¿Dónde está? ¿Dónde está? Dímelo despacio y lo voy a encontrar Where's the bathroom, where's the beach, where's the shop? ¿Dónde está el baño, la playa, la tienda? Slower please, can you say it again? | dohn-deh es-tah | Where is it? No sé dónde está | noh seh dohn-deh es-tah | I don't know where it is Puedo preguntar | pweh-doh preh-goon-tahr | I can ask Lo voy a encontrar | loh boy ah en-kon-trahr | I'm going to find it ¿Dónde está el baño? | dohn-deh es-tah el bah-nyoh | Where is the bathroom? La playa | lah plah-yah | The beach La tienda | lah tyen-dah | The shop Está por aquí | es-tah por ah-kee | It's around here Está por allí | es-tah por ah-yee | It's over there Más despacio | mahs des-pah-syoh | Slower ¿Puedes repetir? | pweh-des reh-peh-teer | Can you repeat? No pasa nada | noh pah-sah nah-dah | It's no problem Why this matters ¿Dónde está? is the phrase you'll use more than almost any other when you first arrive. It's built to be reused: you say the three words, then add whatever you're looking for. Bathroom, beach, shop, station, your hotel. One phrase covers all of it. And when the answer comes back — por aquí, por allí — you'll already recognize it, because it's in the song too. Usage tip Point while you ask. ¿Dónde está el baño? with a glance around works in any café, shop, or street. If the answer comes too fast, follow with despacio or ¿puedes repetir? and listen for por aquí (around here) and por allí (over there). That's usually all you need to start walking in the right direction. Learning Spanish through songs inside The Layers Method on Skool.
