Your High School Journey Starts Here: Passport to High School

Choosing a high school pathway is a big milestone, and Passport to High School is designed to help students and families take that next step with confidence. In this episode of TCISD Talks, we’re joined by Jodi Douglas, Director of Career and Technical Education, and Mary Goldner, Director of Fine Arts, to give families a preview of what to expect at this exciting event. Listeners will learn how Passport to High School allows 8th grade students to explore hands-on CTE programs, experience Fine Arts performances, and connect directly with teachers and programs from La Marque High School and Texas City High School. The event is open to all 8th grade students, even those not currently enrolled in TCISD,  making it a great opportunity to see what our district has to offer. 📍 Passport to High School takes place Jan. 28 from 5–8 p.m. at the Doyle Convention Center, and you won’t want to miss it!

Leading the FRYWAY: Levi Fry Students Take the Mic

In this special episode, we’re shining the spotlight on student leadership at Levi Fry Intermediate! Join us as we hear from Addilyn Martin and Frank Ray, two outstanding student leaders who recently represented their campus at the TCISD Board of Trustees meeting with a State of the School presentation. Behind the Scenes: How PLC Days Help Your Child Succeed

In this episode of TCISD Talks, we’re joined by Andrea Zepeda, Director of Elementary Education, and Kristen Davis, Director of Secondary Education, to talk about PLC Days - an important part of how we support teaching and learning in TCISD. With our first PLC Day of the year coming up on Sept. 19, Andrea and Kristen explain what PLC Days are, who takes part and why they matter. While students enjoy a day off, teachers and staff use the time to collaborate, review student data and plan lessons that best meet the needs of our learners.
