Descripción

In today's episode, I wanted to take some time to revisit JC Chandon's, 2011 wall street, thriller margin call. This was an Oscar nominated, original screenplay, both written and directed by JC Chander. This was actually his directorial debut and the film itself is loosely based on the initial stages of the subprime mortgage crisis of 2007, 2008.   We talk about:  how unethical business practices can destroy one's morality.  How capitalism in and of itself can not only eat away at one's humanity, but also create immoral individuals that essentially only look out for themselves.  Next deep dives I'm working on: Wandavision & The Menu

Titanic's Greatness, 25 years later

In today's episode, we're going to be revisiting James Cameron's 1997 Titanic, starring Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio. Recently James Cameron re-released the 1997 romantic disaster film ahead of its 25th anniversary. As a baby millennial born in the latter half of the 1990s I remember this film as some of my fondest memories of first being in a movie theater and experiencing a blockbuster; the epic scope & mythical love story are still captivating generations to come.  In this episode we’ll talk about what I believe this film means, from a filmmarking perspective. Then take a deep dive into why I think the story between Rose & Jack is the best romantic story ever to grace our cinemas (sorry notebook).  Join me as I take time to revisit this gem of a movie and its impact in the last 25 years.
