Doers Interview: Nik Mijic, Co-Founder & CEO of Matik

Every month on the Doers Podcast we will interview entrepreneurs who stopped waiting for "someday" and started building their dream today.  Today we are interviewing Nik Mijic, the Co-Founder & CEO of Matik. Matik is a Bay Area startup that automates presentations that are created multiple times but with different content, such as quarterly business reviews. Matik surveyed users and found that 63 percent said it took over two hours to generate those reports. For that individual with 60 clients, it could take more than 120 hours, or three weeks, to do these type of reports each quarter. Matik helps reduce that to minutes per report. They have provided a very timely solution for companies who have the same amount of work but a leaner staff due to COVID.  But the road to their first $3 million dollar seed round of funding was anything but easy. Whether you are wanting to start a tech company or an online business, Nik learned valuable lessons that will translate to all of us looking to go from dreaming-to-doing. During the podcast we talk a bit about how to create intentional behind your priorities. If you need some help with making the most intentional decision then make sure to download my free Decision Precision Guide [https://deathtosomeday.lpages.co/decisions/].

Fighting Back Against Imposter Syndrome

Have you ever felt unqualified to pursue your dream? If you have ever: * dealt with a constant fear of failure * or looking like a fraud * or get really awkward when someone tries to give you praise Then you know what Imposter Syndrome is.  Harvard Business Review defined Imposter Syndrome as "the crippling feeling of self-doubt, intellectual inadequacy and anticipated failure that haunts people who attribute their success to luck or help from others rather than their own abilities."  Sound familiar? 3 Mindsets You'll Need To Make Progress And Shut Down That Inner-Critic

"It's not good enough yet!" Sound familiar? It's that little inner-critic that likes to talk trash in your head in order to convince you that you can't move forward until it's perfect. And it's a crime. Why? Because that little voice of perfectionism is stealing your idea, product, or business away from those who need it most. It is stunting your progress by convincing you that perfection is possible.  But I have some good news and bad news.  Want the bad news first? Perfection isn't possible.  Now how about some good news? To go from dreaming to doing, you don't need to be perfect, but you do need to make progress and progress is always possible.  I want to share 3 mindsets that you're going to need to embrace in your life if you are going to go from being a perfectionist to a progressionist. If you are going to break free from the tyranny of "perfect" you will need to embrace these mindsets of progress.  Here's what you'll discover in today's podcast: * The simple metric to knowing when it's time to launch. * Tips on how to get the most out of the books you read. * You'll learn how to make sure your mentors want to meet with you again.  * Freedom from those mindsets that keep you from taking action on your vision. episode I was burning out. But then I learned this truth. artwork

I was burning out. But then I learned this truth.

I was 24 and having a total emotional and mental breakdown.  I had hit rock bottom and I was burnt out.  Little did I know that one of the most memorable years of my life would also be one of the hardest years of my life. But wisdom is never learned through peace and comfort, but through disruption and discomfort. Because of that, year 24 for me, was a year that I gained wisdom that would forever change my life for the better.  I learned that I was in control of whether or not I burnt out and I planned on never giving up that control again.  And you don't have to give up that control either.  I learned in year 24 that burnout does not happen because I am doing too many things, but burnout happens when I do too many of the wrong things. And the good news is that I was in control of what I say "yes" or "no." I simply needed to regain clarity on what is most essential in my life and where I could make the greatest contribution and then protect that at all costs.  If you feel burnt out or you want to avoid ever getting to that place, then I want to share with you three crucial steps you can start taking now to beat burnout.  ------------------------ Here's some great resources: Download [http://deathtosomeday.com/essential] the Decision Precision Guide Download [https://deathtosomeday.lpages.co/vision-jumpstart/] my Vision Jumpstart Essentialism [https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00G1J1D28/ref=dp-kindle-redirect?_encoding=UTF8&btkr=1] - Greg Mckeown "Hell Yeah or no" [https://sivers.org/hellyeah] by Derek Sivers
