ʙʟᴀᴄᴋ ᴡᴏᴍᴇɴ ᴠ.ꜱ ɪᴍᴍᴀᴛᴜʀɪᴛʏ 🤦🏾‍♀️

This episode is a real conversation about a pattern too many Black women know intimately but don’t always hear named out loud: what happens when growth meets immaturity. I’m unpacking the tension between emotionally aware, self-sufficient Black women and the men who feel threatened, intimidated, or simply unequipped to meet them at that level. This isn’t about blaming or bashing, it’s about honesty. Why does independence get mistaken for hardness? Why does emotional intelligence get labeled “too much”? And why do some men shrink instead of rising? We’re getting into the subtle ways immaturity shows up, from avoidance and ego to control and insecurity, and how it impacts dating, self-worth, and the way Black women are perceived and treated. I’m also talking about the emotional labor Black women are expected to carry, and what it costs to keep pouring into people who refuse to grow.If you’ve ever felt like you had to dim your light to be loved, question your standards to keep someone, or carry both your weight and theirs, this episode is for you. It’s not just a vent, it’s a reflection, a release, and a reminder: growth should never feel like a lonely place.

In this episode, I’m speaking from a place that is both personal and political. We’re unpacking how oppressive social systems continue to place impossible burdens on women of color, especially Black women, while disguising inequality as structure, tradition, or policy. This conversation explores the stereotypes forced onto Black women, the emotional and economic labor we are expected to carry, and the ways larger systems can keep us overworked, unheard, and boxed into survival mode. I get real about how these frameworks affect identity, motherhood, ambition, safety, and self-worth, while challenging the narratives that normalize struggle as strength. This episode is for anyone who has ever felt like the system was built to benefit everyone except them.
