episode Taking Accountability in Relationships: Is It Their Stuff or My Stuff? artwork

Taking Accountability in Relationships: Is It Their Stuff or My Stuff?

In the dynamic landscape of relationships, it's often easier to point fingers than to confront the reflection staring back in the mirror. In this episode, we delve into the journey of taking accountability for our actions and reactions. We unveil the intricate ways in which we navigate conflict, often opting for the path of least resistance—external blame. However, as our narrative unfolds, we invite listeners to embark on a transformative journey of self-discovery. We challenge the notion of blame as a protective shield and instead advocate for the act of introspection. By peeling back the layers of our own behaviors and reactions, the power to shape our relationships lies within ourselves. Drawing upon personal experiences, we encourage the potential of embracing accountability. We share practical strategies for cultivating self-awareness and fostering authentic communication, empowering listeners to dismantle the barriers to accountability within their own relationships. We confront the discomfort of self-confrontation with courage and compassion, recognizing that true growth and intimacy blossom from a foundation of accountability and you’re not going to get what you want unless you can articulate it with grace and proper communication. episode Phone Boundaries: “Do Not Disturb” artwork

Phone Boundaries: “Do Not Disturb”

Setting boundaries is not a sign of limitation; it's an act of self-care and empowerment, defining the space where we can thrive with respect and authenticity with ourselves ... Inquiring minds want to know! If you’re in a relationship, does the other person have the right  to take all boundaries away? Should they have complete access to your life? Access to your phone? Access to your bank account? Access to your private conversations?  Everyday we have to determine when and who we set boundaries with! Can you imagine if “do not disturb” actually worked in real life? Where it was easy like a switch of a button to be protected, unconnected and unavailable?  Passwords on phones, access to journals! Who should have access to these things and when? If they do, do they abuse it? Or even worse, do you or someone else go out of their way to hide, cover up and lie about “private” or inappropriate connections and conversations? If it has to be hidden it probably shouldn’t be happening.  This topic is a controversial one, so naturally we figured it was worth a conversation! episode Reframing Relationships: Rent, Lease, Buy artwork

Reframing Relationships: Rent, Lease, Buy

This episode goes over a modern take on relationships. We ‘Call Bullshit’ on marriage being the ultimate measure of relationship success.  The ultimate “success” of a relationship is marriage. That’s the end goal. But if you think about the most secure, happiest, and successful relationships, are they necessarily married? Some of the worst relationships are also married individuals.  In this episode, and from this viewpoint, Krissy and Marie discuss that the success of a relationship isn’t necessarily defined by a fixed duration, title, or set parameters; rather, it’s a continuous process of understanding, support, and shared experiences whether there is a legal or religious contract or not.  When you shift your perspective, it allows you to see how other markets may be more indicative of a successful relationship.  These partnerships may have shorter durations, but they embrace anniversary check ins rather than commercialized flowers, jewelry and dinners. All these things might help turn a relationship rental (dating), lease (engagement), or buy (marriage) into the most successful partnership yet.  Instagram Links  |   @marie.urban1 |   @krissyb32  |  @We_call_bullsh This podcast has been produced and edited by Musso Media LLC.
