What you might have missed this week: with four months to go until the midterms, Trump fired every member of the commission that helps run US elections, and the DOJ threatened election officials in all 50 states with criminal prosecution over a problem that experts say doesn’t really exist (non-citizen voting). And three people died in 7 days during encounters with ICE agents during traffic stops. In two of the cases, witnesses directly contradicted ICE’s account. In neither case was the victim the intended target of the operation. ICE briefly paused vehicle stops only for Trump to publicly overrule his own agency the next day.
