Capable enough. Good enough. And sometimes we place that same burden on others. We expect people to earn our respect. Earn our acceptance. Earn our love. But the witness of scripture points us in a different direction. Paul reminds us that while we were still weak, while we were still far from who we were created to be, God’s love is already being poured out for us. (Romans 5:6-8) Not after we prove ourselves. Not after we get everything right. Not after we become worthy. But now. Love is not a reward for achievement. It is a gift. And the invitation is for us to freely give what we have freely received. We don’t need to prove ourselves worthy of love. And we can stop demanding others do so as well. I’m Horace McMillon. This is 60 Seconds of Hope. When We Are Criticized Unfairly

Send us Fan Mail [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2295449/fan_mail/new] When We Are Criticized Unfairly Sometimes we are criticized unfairly. John the Baptist was criticized because he didn’t eat and drink with others. Jesus was called “a glutton and a drunkard” because he did. — from Matthew 11:18–19 Neither of them let unfair criticism change the way they lived or the way they worked. They each knew who they were and what they were committed to do. Sometimes we have to ignore unfair criticism and stay centered in our identity and purpose. I’m Horace McMillon. This is 60 Seconds of Hope. Peace be with you. #60SecondsofHope #DailyReflection #Encouragement #SpiritualEncouragement #SpiritualGrowth #Discipleship #DailyDevotion #DailyInspiration #Faith #Hope #FaithandLife #HopeForToday Support the show [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2295449/support]
