Champagne and Bullets (also known as GetEven and Road to Revenge) is a chaotic vanity project fever dream where plot takes a backseat to sudden genre shifts, and an unsettling amount of cocaine energy. The story loosely follows personal revenge, police corruption, and justice, but coherence is more of a suggestion than a rule, as if the script were assembled after a long night of questionable decisions involving cocaine, cocktails, cheap beer, and more cocaine. It fully commits to its own unpolished ambition, oscillating between action, melodrama, and accidental comedy, resulting in something that is memorable less for what it says than for how confidently it refuses to behave like a normal film. The late Wings Hauser is featured here in one of his most unhinged performances, delivering his lines like he never looked at the script and just showed up in the midst of a multi-week bender.
