Coach Kris Herron and Mr. Monday, Coach Jerry Weems, got a new month started on Coach & Friends. With it being the first Monday, Dr. Chip East from the Alabama Cooperative Extension Service joined the show as gardening hits its peak season. The conversation centered on tomato problems and the issues many are running into this time of year.

The Barber, David Nolen, joined Coach Kris Herron on this weekend eve. The two covered a foggy morning filled with deer in the road and a run through classic song titles from the American songbook. Mrs. Sheryl Bonner Upchurch stopped by to share memories of the 1976 Bicentennial celebration in Clay County, including a look back at the Freedom Singers, a group Dave was part of.

Coach Kris Herron and Coach Steve Giddens drove the show. They covered a little bit of everything, from church stats and kickoff times to noodle diets and dad jokes, along with talk of an upcoming Alabama concert.

The Grinder, Rusty Taylor, joined Coach Kris Herron to get the day rolling. The guys talked about Taylor’s brother-in-law’s wrestling name, then laughed through a recap of a potato gun mishap that left Taylor with a black eye. They also got into a discussion about Polk salad from the pokeweed plant and pear salad, along with a look at headlines from The Clay Times Journal.

Coach Kris Herron teamed up with Coach Michael Shortt to bring the show back after the Memorial Day weekend. Shortt shared stories from being on the road for the holiday, while Herron recapped a weekend that included stops at Shoney’s, Waffle House, and some unplanned work around the house. The Bone, Heath Stroud, also checked in with a report from the Frog Level Festival.
