Worship Through the Turbulence

Life is full of turbulence. One moment the skies are clear, and the next moment everything feels shaken. In today’s message, Pastor C.T. Townsend preaches from the life of Job and reminds us that when trouble comes, worship is still our weapon. Job lost nearly everything in one day, but instead of cursing God, he worshiped. Through his story, we are reminded that worship changes our perspective, confounds the adversary, and has the power to turn things around. No matter what turbulence you may be facing, God is still in control. He is still faithful. He is still worthy. And sometimes the way through the storm is simply learning to worship Him in the middle of it. “The Lord gave, and the Lord hath taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.” — Job 1:21

In Part 3 of the Rest series, Pastor CT Townsend preached from Matthew 11:28–30 on the rest that can only be found in Jesus. He explained the difference between the rest Jesus gives through salvation and the rest we find when we surrender our control, take His yoke upon us, and learn to walk at His pace. This message is a powerful reminder that the burden is not light because life is easy, but because we are no longer carrying it alone. True rest for the soul is found when we stop striving, release our own plans, and rely fully on the strength of Christ.

It is a great reminder that Jesus is still saying, "Come unto me...and I will give you rest."  In a world that never slows down, we are thankful for a Savior who restores weary souls, brings peace in the middle of storms, and reminds us that His yoke is easy and His burden is light.

Divine Encounter

In Genesis 28:16, Jacob woke up and said, "Surely the Lord is in this place."  God meets us right in the middle of our mess. He doesn't wait until it's fixed, He comes to where we are.  In our running...He shows up. In our rejection...He's still working. Even in our weakness...He uses it for His glory. We may see a mess...but God sees a miracle.
