Beschreibung

The council in Jerusalem confirmed the truth of the gospel that we are saved by the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and that this salvation is applied to us through faith in him. A pure gospel is the power to save, the joy of our hearts, the unity of the church, and the message for the world. We owe our lives to the Holy Spirit’s work in this council to keep the gospel pure. Grace Community Church exists to build spiritually healthy people for ministry in the world. One of the ways that we pursue this mission is by gathering each Sunday for corporate worship, prayer, and biblical teaching. The corporate nature of this gathering is both edifying to the believer and a witness of God’s grace to the world. Sermon speaker is Scott Patty unless otherwise noted.

Episode Stay In Step with The Gospel - Galatians 2:11-21 - June 28, 2026 Cover

Stay In Step with The Gospel - Galatians 2:11-21 - June 28, 2026

Paul’s concern in Galatians is that Christians stay in step with the truth of the gospel. This means to embrace the gospel as truth, believe in it for salvation, and live the new life that flows from its impact on the heart. In this passage, Paul remains in step with the gospel by defending it, even when doing so meant confrontation and conflict. Peter, on the other hand, had to be corrected because his conduct was not in step with the gospel. The exhortation for us is to know the gospel, let it change us at the heart level, and then walk consistent with its truth. Episode One Gospel - Galatians 2:1-10 - June 21, 2026 Cover

One Gospel - Galatians 2:1-10 - June 21, 2026

In this section of Galatians Paul continues to refute the false teachers who accused him of preaching a gospel that was different from the one preached by the other apostles. In the end, Paul shows that he and the other apostle agreed on the gospel of God’s grace and faith in Christ for salvation, and that they joined hands in taking that gospel to Jews and non-Jews alike. Today, we rejoice that the one true gospel of Jesus Christ has been protected and preserved for the sake of Christ’s glory and the good of our souls. Let’s press on in the freedom of Christ’s grace and bear its fruit in our lives. Grace Community Church exists to build spiritually healthy people for ministry in the world. The Gospel Is from God, Not Man - Galatians 1:11-24 - June 14, 2026

The gospel is not from man in any way, it is from God in every way. The gospel’s origin, accomplishments, revelation to us, and application to our hearts are all from God. This means it is truly the power of God to save us from our sins and for a right relationship with him. What do we gain from knowing the gospel is from God and not from man? Confidence that the gospel is true, trust in the finished work of Christ, assurance of our salvation, awakening in love and gratitude to God, and new energy to live for his glory.
