(00:00-23:30) – We open Carb Day with Derek Schultz hosting. He’s joined by JMV to start the show after he hosted the 10-12 power hour on the fan. Derek explains how it feels like the heyday has returned for this event. Derek then touches on the passing of Kyle Busch and what he meant to the racing community. Then, he gets into the latest on the Indiana Fever after the warning that was issued by the WNBA to the team.   (23:30-35:11) –Derek runs through the field as the final practice continues.   (35:11-45:49) – Jake joins Derek and they dive into why Carb Day means so much to them. Jake also opines on who looked the best and who everyone should be keeping an eye on heading into the race Sunay.   (45:49-1:12:20) – Jake had dinner with his now 2nd best friend, Peter Brady of the Brady Bunch, last night and tells us about it. They look at some of the history of the drivers in the field before reflecting the Pacers run a year ago. They both agree that the eastern conference playoffs have done nothing to change their feeling that Indiana will be back in title contention next year.   (1:12:20-1:24:24) – Former IndyCar driver Johnny Parsons Jr. Crashes the show. Jake asks him what is important to accomplish on the last day of practice. Jake also blows Johnny away with his knowledge of  the names on the BorgWarner trophy. Johnny reflects on his dad and his racing career as well as what’s in store for him the rest of the week.   (1:24:24-1:34:29) – Jim Cornielson, who will sing back home again in Indiana before the race, makes his weekly Query & Company Carb Day appearance. He talks about the preparation for singing on race day and how the weather affects it. Plus, Jake tries to get him to sing along with the crowd.  (1:34:29-2:02:21) –Kate Shoup of Indianapolis Monthly joins the show. She talks about the book she wrote, Overtaken, which takes place at the Indy 500. They then get into the weather holding off enough for the wiener dog race to happen. Jake says he’s confident the race will be completed Sunday. Jake says all three Penske’s did well and why there’s no reason to think Alex Palou won’t be at the front of the pack. Derek offers thoughts on Buddy Lazier’s win in ‘96 after hearing his interview with Jake yesterday. JMV joins early for the crossover because he will need to move into the media center!  (2:02:21-2:10:24) - For the good for the heart Friday segment, Jake is joined by Doug from Wisconsin who is going to be Jake’s spotter for the race. Doug talks about his feelings being in Indy for the first time for the Indy 500.  (2:10:24-2:19:12) – The show ends with Jake and Derek previewing the race and their final thoughts. Jake also has some thoughts to share on people declaring Kyle Busch’s son the next prodigy despite him only being 11 years old.   (25:29-35:24) – A listener calls into the show to share something that Jake did for his family that he will forever thank Jake for and try to help spread the word. With it feeling inevitable that the Thunder will finish off the Spurs to take on the Knicks in the NBA Finals, how should the Pacers feel about that?   (35:24-48:40) – Indiana Fever Head Coach Stephanie White joins Jake Query to conclude the first hour of the program to explain what has led to her team winning three consecutive games, highlights how Caitlin Clark is the first option for their offense even if she is not scoring, shares what her relationship is like with Clark, identifies Sophie Cunningham and Lexie Hull as two people who hold things together for the team, and admits that she has already seen Raven Johnson grow through the first six games of the season. (48:40-1:12:23) – Last night the Oklahoma City Thunder defeated the San Antonio Spurs to take a 3-2 series lead in the Western Conference Finals. (00:00-23:20) – Query & Company opens a Tuesday with Jake Query and producer Eddie Garrison discussing Sunday’s 110th running of the Indy 500 and Felix Rosenqvist’s last second pass over David Malukas. Jake comments on the number of people in attendance at the race because he hasn’t seen a crowd that large in his 40+ years of attending the race. Jake also welcomes back Eddie by asking him about his Hawaii trip. (23:20-36:23) – AJ Foyt Racing’s Santino Ferrucci joins Jake Query to recap his race experience on Sunday in the Indianapolis 500 mile race, reveals how many “oh crap” moments he has during the race, agrees with Jake that Felix Rosenqvist is one of the most liked drivers in the paddock, and wants to take credit for showing Felix early in the race the move that won the race for him.   (36:23-44:33) – The first hour of Query & Company concludes with Jake and Eddie discussing which driver’s finish surprised them the most because they don’t recall seeing that driver at all during the 500 miles. Jake also announces the winners for the Indy 500 numbers game!
