The Three Weeks pt. 1: Learning to Long Again

It is so easy to survive the darkness by adopting a radical optimism that ignores my own brokenness, or to become consumed by tears of anger when I face the pain of this world. Yet, the profound invitation of this season is to learn how to sit with the raw, undefined ache inside me and transform it into tears of longing. When I close my eyes in the midst of my personal pain and shut out the immediate distractions, I am able to focus on a vision of wholeness that feels impossibly far away.
