Gnarlgultch is supposed to be a terrifying dragon, but he's a vegetarian who only wants to run a bakery. His fire is perfect for toasting and useless for menacing, he's allergic to gold, and every knight the kingdom sends to slay him leaves with a basket of warm scones and a new favorite café. It escalates until the whole kingdom is lining up at the dragon's door.

18. The Politest Pirates on the Seven Seas

The crew of the Soggy Biscuit are the worst pirates on the seven seas: the parrot only says 'thank you very much,' the captain is terrified of getting his socks wet, and their treasure map keeps leading to mildly inconvenient things. It is a complete disaster — right up until their endless politeness accidentally wins them the only treasure that ever mattered.

Theo's superpower is knowing exactly how long something has been in the microwave. That's it. Completely, totally, magnificently useless — until the day it becomes the only thing standing between the school science fair and complete catastrophe.
