The night is done, the scores are in, and I have so much to share with you. If you’ve been following along on the Broadway Ballroom Battle journey, this episode is your full update - the real, honest recap of everything that happened. A few weeks ago, I shared in Episode 124 Link here why I said yes to competing in the Broadway Ballroom Battle - a charity ballroom dance competition supporting the Goldner Conservatory at the Maltz Jupiter Theatre and the next generation of young performers. Today, I’m back with the full recap. I’m walking you through what the days leading up to the competition actually felt like, the unexpected things that came up along the way and how I worked through them, and what it meant to step on that dance floor and give it everything I had. I also talk about what it was like being coached by the professionals at Fred Astaire Dance Studios - and yes, I get to share some really exciting news - I walked away with Top Audience Favorite and Top Ballroom Star, which still feels surreal to say out loud. But more than the awards, this experience reminded me of something I talk about a lot here on The Cinnamon Effect: real growth happens when we say yes to the uncomfortable things, when we show up even when we’re nervous, and when we trust the process. This was that, fully lived out. In this episode I’m sharing: • What the nerves really looked like in the days before competition night • The unexpected moments I didn’t see coming - and how I handled them • Why doing hard things is one of the most powerful tools for personal growth and overall wellness • What winning Top Audience Favorite and Top Ballroom Star meant to me • The bigger takeaway I’m carrying forward - and what I hope it sparks in you Thank you for cheering me on through every step of this journey. I felt every bit of your support, and I couldn’t wait to come back here and share this with you. Let’s get into it.

Episode The New Status Symbol: Why Sustainable Fashion Is What Real Luxury Looks Like Now Cover

The New Status Symbol: Why Sustainable Fashion Is What Real Luxury Looks Like Now

How much of what surrounds you truly reflects who you are? In a world of fast fashion, endless choices, and constant consumption, Found PB, a women-owned business was built around a different idea: surrounding yourself with things that carry meaning, support artisan craftsmanship, and inspire a more intentional living. In this episode, I’m joined by sisters Andrea Pertnoy and Marisa Pepper, the founders of Found in Palm Beach, Florida. I’ve known Andrea and Marisa since we were little girls in dance class, so this conversation is extra special. We talk about how their very different paths, from fashion and retail to yoga, motherhood, handmade pottery, travel, and wellness, eventually came together in the most beautiful way through their business. Found is a reflection of how they live, what they value, and the kind of energy they want to bring into people’s homes and closets. In this episode, you’ll learn: - How Andrea and Marisa went from childhood dancers to building a business together as sisters - What inspired them to create Found Palm Beach and why the store is rooted in intention, sustainability, and storytelling - Why they believe the things we wear and live with should have meaning, not just look pretty - How they source handmade home decor from artisans around the world - What it really looks like to build relationships with makers, not just buy products from them - Why natural fabrics, slow fashion, and thoughtful consumption matter more than ever Whether you're curious about sustainable fashion, building a purpose-driven business, navigating life's unexpected transitions, or simply creating a home that feels more like you, I think you'll find something meaningful in this conversation. I hope it leaves you inspired to slow down, be more intentional, and think differently about the things, and experiences, you choose to bring into your life. Episode Coping with Grief After Losing a Loved One: How to Find Peace, Hope, and Healing After Loss with Marie Crews Cover

Coping with Grief After Losing a Loved One: How to Find Peace, Hope, and Healing After Loss with Marie Crews

Grief has a way of changing everything. It can shift how we see time, relationships, faith, healing, and even ourselves. And while grief is one of the most universal human experiences, it is also one of the hardest things to talk about honestly. In this episode, I’m joined by Marie Crews, a certified grief guide and life coach, for a heartfelt conversation about grief, grief support, and healing after losing a loved one. Marie shares part of her story of losing both her mother and her son in a short period of time, and how those losses reshaped the way she sees life, love, spirituality, and purpose. Together, we talk about coping with grief, what life after loss can really look like, and why grief healing does not mean pretending the pain is gone. Marie also shares how journaling for healing became a powerful part of her own journey, and how she now uses that work to support other women, especially mothers walking through child loss and deep emotional healing. In this episode, you’ll learn: - Why grief is not something we simply “get over” - How losing a parent or losing a loved one can change the way we see life - Why mother grief and child loss carry layers that are hard to put into words - What coping with grief can look like when the pain still feels fresh - How spirituality can bring comfort, meaning, and hope in the midst of grief - Why journaling for healing can help you process emotions more honestly - How to help someone grieving without feeling like you need to have all the right answers - Why memories, signs, and connection can bring comfort after loss - How pain, peace, and purpose can coexist as part of grief healing This episode is for anyone who has experienced grief, loves someone who is grieving, or wants to better understand how to hold space for life’s hardest moments. My hope is that this conversation reminds you that even when life looks completely different than you imagined, you are not alone and healing is still possible. Is Your Mouth Making You Sick? What Biological Dentistry Reveals About Hidden Infections, Hormones, and Whole-Body Health With Dr. Ilona Fotek

Did you know that a dental issue could be affecting more than just your teeth? In this episode, Dr. Ilona Fotek is back on the podcast for a deeper conversation about the connection between oral health and whole body wellness. We dive into some of the most talked-about topics in holistic dentistry, including cavitations, root canals, dental implants, oral bacteria, and why your mouth may be telling you more about your health than you realize. We also explore how factors like nutrition, immune health, pregnancy, childhood development, and even breastfeeding can play a role in oral health. Dr. Fotek shares her unique whole-body approach to dentistry and explains why she believes every treatment decision should be personalized. In this episode, you'll learn: - What is cavitation and why many people don't know they have them - Why root canals remain one of the most debated topics in dentistry - The surprising ways dental health may influence overall wellness - How biological dentists evaluate patients differently - The pros and cons of zirconia and titanium implants - What saliva testing can reveal about your whole body health - Why some dental problems may be linked to immune function and inflammation - How pregnancy can impact your teeth and oral health - The role nutrition, vitamins, and lifestyle play in maintaining a healthy mouth - Why airway development in children matters more than most parents realize - What tongue ties, jaw growth, and breathing patterns may have to do with lifelong health - How breastfeeding supports oral development and overall wellness - Why Dr. Fotek believes dentistry should focus on the whole person, not just the teeth This conversation challenged a lot of what I thought I knew about dental care and reminded me that our bodies are far more connected than we often realize. Trying Something New in Patagonia: How Hunting With My Husband Changed My Marriage, Perspective, and Personal Growth

I never thought a hunting trip would teach me so much about my marriage. After 22 years with my husband, I finally joined him on a real trip hunting in Patagonia. I went in unsure, a little nervous, and very much stepping outside my comfort zone. I thought I was simply tagging along for his adventure, but what I came home with was a completely new perspective on him, our relationship, nature, masculine energy, feminine energy, and what happens when we say yes to trying something new. This trip pushed me, surprised me, and reminded me that sometimes the experiences we resist the most are the ones that open us up in the biggest ways. It became a lesson in marriage, personal growth, and supporting your partner in something they truly love. In this episode, you’ll learn: * Why I finally said yes to going on a hunting trip with my husband * What it was really like staying at a hunting and fly-fishing lodge in Patagonia * How being in nature shifted something in me * What I noticed when I saw my husband fully in his element * Why trying something new with your partner can change the way you see them * How stepping outside your comfort zone can strengthen your relationship * What this trip taught me about masculine energy and feminine energy * Why unfamiliar experiences can become a powerful doorway to personal growth This episode is for anyone who has ever resisted their partner’s hobbies, felt stuck in routine, or needed a reminder that growth often starts with trying something new and supporting your partner with an open heart. Building Bolay With Chris Gannon - Healthy Food Franchises, Fatherhood, Living Boldly & Leading With Purpose

What does it take to build a thriving gluten free fast casual franchise, raise a family with intention, swim from Alcatraz, and carry on a legendary restaurant legacy? I sat down with Chris Gannon, co-founder of Bolay Fresh Fast Casual, to find out. Chris shares the business and life lessons he absorbed growing up watching his father Tim Gannon build Outback Steakhouse, and how he channeled that into creating one of the most exciting healthy food franchises in the country. We dig into what leading by example really looks like - as a CEO, as a triathlete, as an equestrian, and as a dad. Chris also shares what being chosen as Chief Osceola at FSU truly required, and why that experience shaped his leadership style in ways he still draws from today. If you care about entrepreneurship, wellness, clean eating, and living with purpose, this episode is for you.
