Episode 104 Monday 29th December

So I just contemplate on what is happening to both of us. All of a sudden its lunch and its off to the gym for the afternoon session. Then it back home for a short while and then its off to Addenbrookes to see my wife. Tuesday. Its half term this week but i doubt its going to be busy as its very cold and wet. The market traders are also at home and the market square toilets are clean. And I finish work on time and then I go and see my wife and then after 90 minutes home. Wednesday. While I am walking around I get a Phone call from the Occupational Therapist. I put the phone down on him. I then am angry at what he is proposing not happy at all! All the buildings are clean and I finish the day on time. After which I go and see mt wife for 90 minutes and then home. Thursday. I still am angry about yesterday but the buildings are clean. Later in the day and palliative care rings me up and assures about the overninght care. I then am happy. Friday. Everything is clean as usual. I get a phone call from Planned Discharge and they think that letting my wife come home would be unsafe and they want her to go into a carehome instead. I am very happy with this. I go home and then have my evening gym session. Saturday. Everything is back to its normal routine, I clean the house in the morning and then go and see my wife in the afternoon. Then after my visit I collect my fish and chips and return home. Sunday. Its an unusual start to the day as I get a phone call saying that my wife has been moved to ward D9 and will remain there until discharge. And the its on with the usual Sunday.

Episode 110 Monday 9th February

I still do nothing as I am still stunned from what palliative care has said. Lunchtime comes and I make something to eat and then go to the gym. I hope that the afternoon gym session will make me feel better. But then my PT asks about my wife and I burst into tears. I then after the session go home. Tuesday. Back to work and its still cold and raining. I ask my uncle to see if he will give me a lift to addenbrookes. He later on replies he will. Its just an ordinary day at work Later on I go to my uncles and go and see my wife. And then I go home. Wednesday. I've decided to buy what will be her last valentine's present. But what do I buy her ? I've decided on buying her a small bear. The day is grotty and the buildings are clean. I go straight home from work. Thursday. Its just like Tuesday. Cold and wet and the buildings are clean. In the evening I go and see my wife. Friday. All the buildings are clean except market square toilets which are dirty. I then finish the day and I go home as its a gym session in the evening. Saturday. First I have my breakfast then I go off to a famous supermarket chain to buy a small bear. I see one he is holding a small pink bag with writing on it. It says " The reasons why I love you" I go back home have my lunch and then go and see my wife. I give her the bear and then after a while I go home. Sunday. Sunday starts off in the usual way T.v in the morning then I go for my weekly shop in Bar Hill I then return home. A little while later I get a phonecall from my wife. But its not my wife its a nurse. I go rushing up the hospital! I then return home after 90 minutes. I then have my Sunday Roast Ready meal and then to bed.

Episode 109 Monday 2nd February

I update my Podcast in the morning then have lunch and then in the afternoon go to the gym and the after the hour go home and have some rest. And then go up to the hospital to see my wife and then home. Tuesday. This morning before work I email the Parish Clerk and give apologies for my absence. Then at work everything remains clean. I do the two cleaning rounds and then get changed and head for addenbrookes where I visit my wife for 90 minutes and then return home. Wednesday. Today is a repeat of yesterday but I go straight home after work. Thursday. I go to work as usual and again the round is clean. However I get a phone call from Palliative Care saying that my wife's life is coming to the end. Then after the second round I change and go and see my wife. I don't know if Palliative care have told what is happening to her and therefore I don't mention the phonecall. I then go home. Friday. I am still numb from the phonecall yesterday. However the round remains clean all day and I then go straight home and then go for my evening gym session. Saturday. Its the usual Saturday Routine. Do the housework in the morning and then off to addenbrookes. Its getting very expensive. I see my wife for 2.5 hrs and then I go home. I get my Fish and Chips and then some t.v and then to bed. Sunday. I spend most of the day in tears. I do the weekly shop and then spend the rest of the day telling neighbours about my wife and I then end the day in tears and then to bed.

Episode 108 Monday 26th January

Send us Fan Mail [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2275977/fan_mail/new] Monday. I woke up and made an another appointment for my wife. This time we saw a GP. We go home and do not have time to play chess. In the afternoon I go to the afternoon session in the gym. Then home to assist my wife. Tuesday. Off to work again But the tourist industry is getting busy but they are mostly chinese. I finish the day on time and go home. Wednesday. I getup and go to work as usual but before I go my wife has an argument. She is in agony and pleads for me to stay at home but I explain to her its to late. With gut wrenching I head for work. All day there is no cleaning to be done. I then at the end of the day head for home to the news that my wife has not had much to eat. I buy her some sausage rolls and she picks at them. Then she settles down for bed. Thursday. At 3am my wife wakes me up and says that she hasn't much sleep and we ring NHS 111. 6hrs later we are heading for A and E. We stay there all day and we discover its a DVT. Something I was scared about but now realise that my wife's life is coming to an end. At Midnight my wife is taken to a ward. Friday. I wake up the next day and tell my boss that I am not coming in to work. In the afternoon I visit my wife she tells me that there might be stent put in and I am happy. I then leave. Saturday. I clean in the morning and then in the afternoon I go and see my wife. I ask to have a report about her situation and I have a shock as the registrar is waiting for me. She says there is to be no operation and then she leaves. Then another doctor appears for pain control. I then go home. Sunday. No visiting today. So I wash politics East and then off to Bar HIll for the weekly shop. And then home and then in the evening I have a Sunday Roast Ready Meal.

Episode 107 Monday 19th January

Send us Fan Mail [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2275977/fan_mail/new] Monday. This morning I make an appointment for my to see the GP but instead we see the practice Nurse. Its a Diabetic foot infection with great relief. WE get home and we play some chess then its lunch. I then go for the afternoon session at the gym. Then home cook my wifes dinner and then have mine. Tuesday. I attend a meeting with my my boss and the City Council. The work at Market Square is not up to Standard so the City Council has a form for the person that cleans in the evening to fill in. Then I go home in the evening. Wednesday. Work is still very quiet. The form at Market square is not being filled in. I go home on time in the evening. Thursday. Work is as usual quiet but the form at Market Square is now being filled in. I get home in the evening and my wife says that her right foot is no better. I tell her that if things have not improved then there might be a second visit to the GP. We both go to bed. Friday. Work continues to be quiet its times like these that I wish I am retired. However I get on with my work. I finish the week on time and then go for my evening session in the gym. And then home and help the wife into bed. Saturday. Its a quiet saturday and my wife's foot issue continues and there are no antibiotics left. We spend the morning playing chess and then in the afternoon my wife watch's the indoor bowls championship from potters. Sunday. Its the usual Sunday politics East on TV and then its off to Bar Hill for the weekly shop. Then home and then in the evening I cook Sunday Roast. I set the alarm for 8am tomorrow morning.
