She carried her stillborn daughter's ashes with her almost everywhere she went. She left them behind the night she vanished. Fawn Marie Mountain was 25 years old when she disappeared from a trailer in Claysburg, Pennsylvania in November 2012. She left behind all of her clothes. She left behind the one thing she never went anywhere without. Her own family didn't even know she was missing for almost three years, a direct result of the isolation and coercive control investigators and her family say defined her relationship with her partner, Heather Dibert. Dibert has never been charged in Fawn's disappearance. But in 2025 she was convicted in a completely unrelated Bedford County case, a murder-for-hire plot against an estranged wife. The judge called her "one of the most manipulative people I've ever seen in a courtroom." Fawn's case remains open. Pennsylvania State Police have identified a person of interest but have not named them publicly. Her 14-month-old daughter was shot in the head. Brittany died at the wheel. Aubree survived.
