Walk Through History: Bible Edition
Welcome back to the journey. Today’s reading takes us to the closing chapters of 1 Chronicles, where David prepares for something, he will never personally see completed—the temple of the Lord. We watch him organize gatekeepers, assign responsibilities, and gather resources, all while knowing that Solomon will carry the vision forward. There’s something powerful here: David doesn’t step back because it’s not “his moment.” Instead, he pours out his best for the next generation. In chapter 29, his prayer reminds us that everything we give—our time, our gifts, our resources—comes from God in the first place. It’s all His. Then we turn to Psalm 127, which reframes everything: “Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain.” It’s a reminder that success isn’t just about effort or planning—it’s about dependence on God. Whether we’re building a family, a legacy, a ministry, or simply our day-to-day lives, the foundation matters more than the activity. So today, ask yourself: What am I building—and am I inviting God into it? Let’s dive in.
