Beschreibung

God often accomplishes His greatest work through ordinary believers who are willing to faithfully share the hope of the gospel. Following the growth of the early church in Acts 11, Pastor Chris Teien shows how God uses everyday people, empowers them through the Holy Spirit, and strengthens them through biblical community to multiply their faith in others. Discover how God can use your life to help others follow Jesus. In This Message 1. Begin with Ordinary Faithfulness (Acts 11:19; Acts 10:34-35) The believers scattered by persecution were not apostles or religious leaders, but ordinary followers of Christ who faithfully shared the gospel wherever they went. God often uses everyday people who are willing to trust Him and remain faithful in changing circumstances. Faith multiplies when believers simply live where God has placed them and speak about Jesus naturally. 2. Share Jesus Naturally (Acts 11:20; Romans 1:16; Matthew 28:19-20) As opportunities arose, these believers began sharing the good news with Gentiles, allowing the gospel to cross cultural barriers. They did not rely on perfect knowledge or polished presentations but faithfully shared what they knew about Christ. God continues to use ordinary conversations to draw people to Himself. 3. Depend on God's Power (Acts 11:21; Acts 1:8; 1 Corinthians 3:6) The growth of the church was not the result of human ability but the work of God's Spirit. While believers faithfully planted and watered the seed of the gospel, the Lord opened hearts and brought people to faith. Spiritual fruit always depends on God's power rather than our own. 4. Grow Through Encouraging Relationships (Acts 11:22-24; Hebrews 10:24-25; 2 Timothy 2:2) Barnabas encouraged the new believers to remain faithful and helped strengthen the growing church. God uses healthy relationships, faithful mentors, and the fellowship of the local church to help believers mature and multiply their faith. Christian growth is strengthened when believers encourage one another. 5. Continue Growing Through Biblical Teaching (Acts 11:25-26; Colossians 1:28; Ephesians 4:13) Barnabas brought Saul to Antioch so the growing church could receive consistent biblical instruction. Spiritual maturity develops through ongoing teaching, faithful discipleship, and a growing understanding of God's Word. Healthy disciples continue learning so they can help others grow as well. 6. Let Your Life Reflect Christ (Acts 11:26; Matthew 7:16; 2 Corinthians 5:17) The believers in Antioch became known as Christians because their lives visibly reflected Jesus Christ. A multiplying faith produces transformed character, faithful obedience, and a witness that others can clearly recognize. As believers grow in Christ, their lives point others toward Him. 26.0427der Helping you apply God's Word and follow Jesus in everyday life. Episode Wisdom for Leading Your Family Well: Biblical Parenting Cover

Wisdom for Leading Your Family Well: Biblical Parenting

Every believer has the opportunity to shape the lives of others through faithful example and biblical wisdom. Drawing from the book of Proverbs, Pastor Chris Teien shows how God calls parents, grandparents, mentors, and every follower of Christ to lead with integrity, intentionally teach His truth, and leave a legacy of faith. Learn how everyday faithfulness can influence generations to follow Christ. In This Message 1. Lead Through Your Example (Proverbs 20:7; Genesis 6:9; Genesis 9; Joshua 24:15) Godly leadership begins with a life that consistently pursues the Lord rather than perfection. Our character, priorities, and daily choices often teach more than our words ever can. Even when we fail, humility, repentance, and renewed faithfulness continue to point others toward Christ. 2. Teach God's Truth Intentionally (Deuteronomy 6:6-9; Ephesians 6:4; Proverbs 22:6) God's Word is meant to shape everyday life through intentional conversations, faithful instruction, and consistent example. Spiritual influence happens as biblical truth is woven naturally into the routines of home, work, and daily relationships. Teaching God's truth helps build a foundation that prepares others to follow Him throughout life. 3. Build a Legacy of Faith (Proverbs 4:1-9; Proverbs 3:5-10; Judges 2:10; 3 John 4) A lasting legacy is built by pursuing God's wisdom, trusting Him wholeheartedly, and putting Him first in every area of life. The greatest inheritance we can leave is not possessions or success but a life that consistently points others toward Christ. Faithful influence today can continue bearing fruit for generations to come. 26.0621der Helping you apply God's Word and follow Jesus in everyday life. Episode Leading Through Wise Influences and Avoiding Compromise Cover

Leading Through Wise Influences and Avoiding Compromise

Every leader is influenced by someone, and every believer has the opportunity to influence others. Drawing from Proverbs 1 and Proverbs 4, Pastor Chris Teien shows how God's wisdom helps us choose godly influences, reject harmful compromise, and guard our hearts in a world filled with competing voices. Learn how following God's wisdom can help you lead faithfully and point others toward Christ.  In This Message 1. Listen to Wise Voices (Proverbs 1:8; Proverbs 12:15; Proverbs 13:20; Romans 15:4) God often uses Scripture and faithful believers to shape our character and guide our decisions. Learning from the wisdom, examples, and experiences of others helps us grow in discernment and avoid unnecessary mistakes. Wise leaders remain teachable and intentionally seek counsel that points them toward Christ. 2. Avoid Harmful Influences (Proverbs 1:10-19) Sin often presents itself as attractive, rewarding, or harmless, but it ultimately leads to regret and destruction. Solomon warns believers not to give in to the pressure of sinful people or compromise their convictions for acceptance, success, or personal gain. Choosing God's path protects us from consequences that are often difficult to see in the moment. 3. Choose the Right Path (Proverbs 4:14-19; Psalm 1:1-3; Genesis 13) Every decision moves us closer to God or farther from Him. Wise choices are formed through faithful obedience, while small compromises can gradually lead a person away from God's best. Following Christ requires intentionally choosing the path of wisdom day after day. 4. Guard Your Heart (Proverbs 4:20-27; Proverbs 27:19; Luke 6:45; Ephesians 3:17) The condition of the heart shapes every area of life, including our words, priorities, and actions. God's wisdom calls believers to guard their hearts by filling them with His truth, keeping their focus on Christ, and walking in ways that honor Him. A transformed heart produces a transformed life. 26.0614der Helping you apply God's Word and follow Jesus in everyday life. Episode Leading with True Wisdom Cover

Leading with True Wisdom

Wisdom is more than knowing the right answers. Through Solomon's writings in Proverbs and other passages throughout Scripture, Pastor Chris Teien shows how God gives believers the wisdom they need to make faithful decisions, lead with integrity, and live lives that honor Him. Learn why true wisdom begins with God and grows as His truth is put into practice. In This Message 1. Recognize Your Need for Wisdom (1 Kings 3:9-12; Proverbs 1:2-6; James 3:13-17; Proverbs 14:12) Solomon understood that successful leadership required God's wisdom rather than human ability alone. Biblical wisdom is the God-given ability to rightly apply truth to everyday decisions and circumstances. Wise leaders continually seek God's direction because every decision influences the people around them. 2. Live in the Fear of the Lord (Proverbs 1:7; Proverbs 9:10; Psalm 111:10; Ecclesiastes 12:13; 2 Samuel 5:19) True wisdom begins with reverence, submission, and obedience to God. Fearing the Lord means caring deeply about His will and seeking His guidance before making life's important decisions. A life centered on God provides the foundation for sound judgment and faithful leadership. 3. Pursue and Apply God's Wisdom (Proverbs 2:1-6; James 1:5; Colossians 2:2-3; James 1:22) God calls believers to actively seek wisdom by listening to His Word, praying for understanding, and putting biblical truth into practice. Wisdom grows through continual pursuit, not passive observation. As believers follow Christ, who is the fullness of God's wisdom, they become equipped to lead others with humility and discernment. 26.0607der Helping you apply God's Word and follow Jesus in everyday life. Episode Don’t Quit: Staying Strong in the Race of Faith* Cover

Don’t Quit: Staying Strong in the Race of Faith*

The Christian life is not a sprint but a lifelong race that requires endurance, perseverance, and unwavering faith. Drawing from Hebrews 12, Pastor Chris Teien encourages believers to stay focused on Christ, remove spiritual obstacles, and keep moving forward through every challenge. Discover how God equips His people to finish the race of faith with confidence and hope. In This Message 1. Know You Are Being Watched (Hebrews 12:1; Hebrews 11) The faithful men and women of Scripture remind us that God has always worked through ordinary people who trusted Him. Our lives also become an example to others as they watch how we respond to hardship, failure, and victory. Faithful endurance encourages the next generation to keep following Christ. 2. Remove What Slows You Down (Hebrews 12:1; 1 John 2:16) God calls believers to lay aside every sin, distraction, and misplaced priority that hinders spiritual growth. Even good things can become obstacles if they keep us from God's best. A life focused on Christ requires regularly evaluating what helps us run faithfully and what holds us back. 3. Enter and Continue the Race of Faith (John 3:16; John 3:36; Romans 6:23; 1 John 5:11-13) The race of faith begins by placing our trust in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Every believer is invited to receive the gift of eternal life and continue growing in faith throughout life's journey. God enables His people to overcome failure and keep moving forward because of His grace. 4. Keep Your Eyes on Jesus (Hebrews 12:2; Colossians 3:23) Jesus is the perfect example of faithful endurance and the One who both begins and completes our faith. Fixing our attention on Him gives strength to persevere through discouragement and remain faithful to the calling He has given us. Lasting joy is found by living for Christ rather than seeking the approval of others. 5. Finish the Race with Endurance (Hebrews 12:3-4; 2 Timothy 3:12; 2 Timothy 4:7-8) The Christian life includes opposition, hardship, and seasons of perseverance, but God promises strength for those who remain faithful. Like the apostle Paul, believers can finish well by continuing to trust Christ through every stage of life. The reward awaiting those who faithfully endure makes every sacrifice worthwhile. 17m0826der Helping you apply God's Word and follow Jesus in everyday life. Episode When the Holy Spirit Empowers Ordinary People Cover

When the Holy Spirit Empowers Ordinary People

Throughout Scripture, God accomplishes extraordinary things through ordinary people who are willing to trust Him. Drawing from the lives of David's mighty men and the coming of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost, Pastor Chris Teien shows how God's Spirit gives believers courage, faithfulness, and power to serve Christ. Learn how the Holy Spirit can strengthen you to stand firm, remain faithful, and pour out your life for God's purposes. In This Message 1. Have the Courage to Stand (2 Samuel 23:8-12; 1 Samuel 22:1-2; 1 Chronicles 12:18; 1 Corinthians 1:27-29) David's mighty men were not chosen because they were extraordinary, but because God empowered ordinary people to accomplish His purposes. Their victories came through the Lord's strength, not their own abilities. God continues to use willing believers who faithfully stand for Him. 2. Remain Faithful to the Mission (2 Samuel 23:13-17; Luke 9:23; 2 Timothy 2:3-4) Faithfulness often requires sacrifice, perseverance, and a willingness to put Christ's mission above personal comfort. Like David's mighty men, believers demonstrate their devotion by serving faithfully even when obedience is costly. Following Jesus means living for His purposes rather than our own. 3. Worship Through Sacrifice (2 Samuel 23:16-17; Philippians 2:17; John 15:13; Romans 5:8; Romans 6:23) David's response to his men's sacrifice reminds us that true worship is offering our lives to God in gratitude and devotion. This act also points forward to Jesus Christ, who willingly poured out His life to provide eternal salvation. Believers honor God by offering Him their time, talents, resources, and faithful service. 4. Live in the Power of the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:1-18; Acts 4:13; Acts 5:41; Joel 2:28-29) The coming of the Holy Spirit transformed fearful disciples into courageous witnesses for Christ. That same Spirit now lives within every believer, providing boldness, guidance, conviction, and strength to faithfully serve God. As we yield to the Holy Spirit, He equips us to make an eternal difference in the lives of others. 26.0524der Spend Your Life for Something Greater Helping you apply God's Word and follow Jesus in everyday life.
