Well Faith: Biblical Messages with Chris Teien
God often accomplishes His greatest work through ordinary believers who are willing to faithfully share the hope of the gospel. Following the growth of the early church in Acts 11, Pastor Chris Teien shows how God uses everyday people, empowers them through the Holy Spirit, and strengthens them through biblical community to multiply their faith in others. Discover how God can use your life to help others follow Jesus. In This Message 1. Begin with Ordinary Faithfulness (Acts 11:19; Acts 10:34-35) The believers scattered by persecution were not apostles or religious leaders, but ordinary followers of Christ who faithfully shared the gospel wherever they went. God often uses everyday people who are willing to trust Him and remain faithful in changing circumstances. Faith multiplies when believers simply live where God has placed them and speak about Jesus naturally. 2. Share Jesus Naturally (Acts 11:20; Romans 1:16; Matthew 28:19-20) As opportunities arose, these believers began sharing the good news with Gentiles, allowing the gospel to cross cultural barriers. They did not rely on perfect knowledge or polished presentations but faithfully shared what they knew about Christ. God continues to use ordinary conversations to draw people to Himself. 3. Depend on God's Power (Acts 11:21; Acts 1:8; 1 Corinthians 3:6) The growth of the church was not the result of human ability but the work of God's Spirit. While believers faithfully planted and watered the seed of the gospel, the Lord opened hearts and brought people to faith. Spiritual fruit always depends on God's power rather than our own. 4. Grow Through Encouraging Relationships (Acts 11:22-24; Hebrews 10:24-25; 2 Timothy 2:2) Barnabas encouraged the new believers to remain faithful and helped strengthen the growing church. God uses healthy relationships, faithful mentors, and the fellowship of the local church to help believers mature and multiply their faith. Christian growth is strengthened when believers encourage one another. 5. Continue Growing Through Biblical Teaching (Acts 11:25-26; Colossians 1:28; Ephesians 4:13) Barnabas brought Saul to Antioch so the growing church could receive consistent biblical instruction. Spiritual maturity develops through ongoing teaching, faithful discipleship, and a growing understanding of God's Word. Healthy disciples continue learning so they can help others grow as well. 6. Let Your Life Reflect Christ (Acts 11:26; Matthew 7:16; 2 Corinthians 5:17) The believers in Antioch became known as Christians because their lives visibly reflected Jesus Christ. A multiplying faith produces transformed character, faithful obedience, and a witness that others can clearly recognize. As believers grow in Christ, their lives point others toward Him. 26.0427der Helping you apply God's Word and follow Jesus in everyday life.
