Året der gik: De bedste podcasts i 2021

Jan 13, 2022

2021 made us listen

Some podcast series and audiobooks particularly captivated us and made us pay extra attention during 2021. We learned many new things and gained new perspectives on life's big and small questions.

Woman, Know Your History

The year 2021 focused sharply on stories, figures, and historical events that have been forgotten over time. In this podcast, Woman, Know Your History, women are in focus when historian Gry Jexen, along with a selected guest, delves into the overlooked, yet equally significant historical female figures. This is an ode to women!

Parental Magic

Parenting has many facets. And it's not always a dance on roses balancing it all. In the Norwegian audiobook, Parental Magic, author Hedvig Montgomery gives her take on how to provide a solid ground for happiness and self-confidence in your child's upbringing, which they can carry into adulthood. And how to prepare the child for the sorrows and downturns that life may bring.

Therefore You Never Fall for the Wrong One

Oh, love. Floating on the pink cloud is probably one of the best feelings in the world. But high to fly, deep to fall. In the audiobook “Therefore You Never Fall for the Wrong One”, author Jette Vikkelsøe maps out the mystery behind love and the biological chemistry that creates love in humans.

2021 made us laugh

There's nothing better than lying flat on the floor laughing or almost choking on coffee.  It can cure even the worst day!

Mads and the A-Team

Every week we laughed and thought and were outraged as Mads and the A-Team attempted to solve some difficult, funny, and interesting dilemmas. Mads Steffensen's soft voice and his A-Team reminded us that even in the darkest of times, there were still people with bigger dilemmas than whether to have soup or frozen pizza for dinner.

Sitter

Who wouldn't want to be a fly on the wall when Iben Hjejle and Signe Lindkvist discuss everyday issues. Here, they're not just “those from TV,” but real people.  A self-ironic, thoughtful - and hilariously funny segment!

A Golden Cork

In this audiobook, you again get to enjoy Iben Hjejle with the portion of thoughtfulness and humor she possesses, in another format. The autobiography dives into the actress's private and professional life, peppered with anecdotes large and small. And ups and downs and everything in-between that together have created the story of Iben.

2021 gave us chills

Some podcast series sent chills down our spine and made the hairs stand up. A walk in the foggy woods? Maybe not right now. We checked under the bed and in the closets after listening to these podcasts.

My Fatal Tinder Match

Dating can be dangerous. In a digitized world, you don't always know who is behind the profile picture. In this true-crime podcast, Eydis Dali recounts the worst Tinder nightmare. A brief meeting turned into an intense stalking scenario. The series tries to answer: why her?

The Chestnut Man

We probably remember the Netflix series The Chestnut Man, which almost left the streets deserted and created great fear and terror for the otherwise innocent chestnut figures that children bring home from kindergarten. But in fact, the series is based on a crime novel written by the director himself, Søren Sveistrup (the man behind Borgen).

Incredible Sects

In this exciting and captivating podcast, stories are told about the largest and most debated sects that have existed throughout world history. In this series, you get answers to questions about what a sect is and why people remain in sects for years.

2021 made us binge

Let's be honest - there are few  podcasts that tackle such a personally interesting topic that you don't want to binge. But some stood out with binge-worthy features that could capture us for an entire day - or weekend, or holiday.

The Narcotics Cop and the Criminal Underworld

In this binge-worthy podcast series, we journey with former narcotics cop René Dahl and journalist Pernille Brunse to another world where criminals, addicts, and prostitutes reign. Here, you get your horizons expanded towards areas you might not dare to venture - and gain insights into some of the darkest corners of our society.

Hardened

And this leads us to the audiobook and bestseller: Hardened. Hardened, written by aforementioned René Dahl, maps and dives deep into the criminal underworld. Page by page, the reader is drawn further and further in! Hardened is a must-listen, and once you start, you can't put it down.

Breinholt Talks With

In Breinholt Talks With, you get a wandering talk show in podcast format. Here, Anders Breinholt meets a range of large Danish personalities in their own universe. In the popular podcast, we get closer to, among others, Claus Meyer and Helle Thorning Schmidt, who have each shaped our nation - with culinary art or statecraft. But they offer much more than that. You hear much more when Breinholt takes a conversation with them.
