For week one of the birth stories series my friend Alicea joins me to talk about her two very different births. Both babies were over 9lbs but her first birth was a lot harder than her 2nd birth experience. Induction took a long time ending in an assisted forceps delivery. This birth stories series is intended to highlight that birth is a very individual and unique experience. Women are often fed lines such as 'as long as the baby is ok that's all that matters.' but it's not all that matters. Mum's health matters too. I hope listening to these birth stories empowers you to take rightful control over your birth choices and to have a positive birth experience. If you would like to share your birth story on the Kate Lili Blog podcast email me at kateliliblog@gmail.com

An interview with Charlotte from Welsh Mummy Blogs. Charlotte talks about her personal experience of post natal psychosis, bipolar, and post natal anxiety and depression. We talk about her campaign work to raise awareness of these issues and the current desperate need for services in Wales such as a specialist peri-natal mental health mother and baby unit. Read Charlotte's blog at https://www.welshmummyblogs.com If you would like to get in touch with Charlotte about the lived experience group email her at: welshmummyblogs@gmail.com If you need further support or signposting for yourself or a loved one visit https://www.pandasfoundation.org.uk

Have you been underestimating your role as mum? As mums/parents/carers we are often carrying around guilt that we may even be unaware is there. In this episode I describe a cathartic afternoon, why I'm taking my toddler out of playgroup and a quiet moment with God.

Episode 2 of the Kate Lili podcast is all about personal motivation. Why do some people seem to be more motivated than others? Is it a quality we are born with or a skill we learn? This episode is time limited. As I'm not happy with the recording quality (background rain) I will be deleting this episode in the future! Please listen and leave a review on itunes. Thanks!
