Are you ready to make Bible study a priority? Would you love to be more familiar with the stories and passages in scripture? Do you long to connect with God and strengthen your faith?Friend, you are in the right place. This podcast will help you understand your Bible, apply verses to your life, and become more confident with the who, where, and why in scriptureHi, I’m Angie. I’m a pastor and Bible teacher. For years, even though I knew God loved me, I still dealt with defeating doubts about my value and purpose.  It wasn’t until I began deeply studying the Bible that I experienced a heart transformation that allowed me to recognize the lies of the enemy that kept me stuck in shame and defeat. Studying scripture allowed me to stand firm on God’s promises that offer peace, joy, hope, and rest. I created a Step By Step Bible study method that teaches you to find life application in one word of scripture, and I will share it with you in these episodes. If you crave a deep dive into scripture…Bible study tools you can trust…And a method designed to equip you to study with confidence…Then, pull up a seat at our table, open your heart, and prepare to hear God speak directly to you.

339 | He Doesn’t Just Call Me to Obey, He Helps Me Walk It Out

Have you ever worried that following God might take you somewhere you don’t want to go, or that you wouldn’t be able to keep up if you tried? In Psalm 23:3b, David writes, “He guides me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake.” The Hebrew word nachah means to guide, to govern, to lead forth. It’s not just about pointing out the path. It’s about walking with us, rerouting us when we wander, and strengthening us to keep moving forward. Here’s what you’ll hear in this week’s episode: * What synonyms and antonyms of “guide” reveal about God’s trustworthy leadership * How translations like The Passion Translation and The Voice paint vivid pictures of God steering us off worn, hard paths and into places of life and beauty * Insights from commentaries, including the reminder that obedience isn’t about knowing every option, it’s about staying close to the Shepherd * Tony Evans’ GPS comparison and what it means for God to lovingly reroute us * The characteristics of God revealed in this verse: Guide, Righteous, Strong Tower * Angie’s story of preparing for a young woman’s funeral and how God miraculously guided her, not because she figured it out, but because He was faithful Grab your FREE Step By Step Starter Kit This week’s study guide, plus everything you need to follow along through December, is inside! 338 | 3 Lies That Keep You from Bible Study and the Truth That Sets You Free

Have you ever felt like Bible study is just out of reach? Maybe you’ve told yourself you’re not smart enough, you’re too busy, or you’ve failed too many times before to try again. In John 17:17, Jesus prayed, “Sanctify them in the truth; Your word is truth.” His Word is not meant to weigh us down with guilt—it’s meant to lift us up in freedom. In this episode, we’ll uncover 3 common lies that keep us from Bible study and the truth that sets us free. Here’s what you’ll hear in this week’s episode: * Why Bible study isn’t for the spiritually elite, it’s for the spiritually hungry * How even five minutes in Scripture can shape your day in powerful ways * Why failure doesn’t disqualify you, and how God’s mercy meets you every single time you open His Word * Reflection questions to help you identify which lie has been whispering in your ear and the truth you need to cling to Grab your FREE Step By Step Starter Kit This week’s study guide, plus everything you need to follow along through December, is inside! 337 | When What You Lost Isn’t What You Needed

Have you ever prayed for God to give you something back, only to find He gave you something completely different instead? In Psalm 23:3a, David writes, “He restores my soul.” That little word “restores” is rich with meaning. In Hebrew, it’s shoob, to turn back, to renew, to repent, to be brought to life again. Restoration doesn’t mean business as usual. It means being welcomed into something greater than before.   Here’s what you’ll hear in this week’s episode: * How synonyms and translations of “restore” reveal wholeness, renewal, and even catching our breath * Biblical pictures of restoration: the prodigal son, Peter’s restoration, and Judah’s return from exile * Insights from commentaries that remind us God restores both when we’ve strayed and when we’re simply spent * How the enemy twists restoration into striving, and how God’s Word in 1 Corinthians 12:9 frees us with grace * Angie’s story of recovery from a head-on car crash and how God used it to bring restoration deeper than she ever imagined Grab your FREE Step By Step Starter Kit This week’s study guide, plus everything you need to follow along through December, is inside! 336 | God Doesn’t Just Invite Me to Rest—He Insists on It

Have you ever felt guilty for slowing down? In a culture that glorifies hustle, rest can feel like weakness. But Psalm 23:2a says something different. This week, we’re looking at the word “makes” and discovering how God’s insistence on rest is an act of love. Here’s what you’ll hear in this week’s episode: * How the Hebrew meaning of “makes” deepens our understanding of God’s care * Why true rest isn’t something we earn, but something we receive from the Shepherd * The story of how Sabbath led to a new family tradition, Sunday Linner, and the unexpected ways God used it to knit our hearts together * How to replace the enemy’s lie that rest is weakness with the truth that Jesus invites the weary to come to Him Grab your FREE Step By Step Starter Kit This week’s study guide, plus everything you need to follow along through December, is inside! 335 | When You Feel Like You’re Failing, Remember This

What If Failure Isn’t What You Think It Is? Have you ever felt like no matter how hard you try, you’re still falling short? In this episode, we’re digging into Psalm 23:1, the Hebrew word for “want,” and how it might mean more than you think it means.   Here’s what you’ll hear in this week’s episode: * How the Hebrew word chaser deepens the meaning of “I shall not want” * Why success is found in following the Shepherd, not performing for the crowd * A personal story about our newly adopted rescue dog, Sadie, and how God used her to remind me I’m not failing when I’m following * How to replace the enemy’s lie of “you have to take care of yourself” with the truth that the Lord will care for you Grab your FREE Step By Step Starter Kit This week’s study guide, plus everything you need to follow along through December, is inside! En fantastisk app med et enormt stort udvalg af spændende podcasts. Podimo formår virkelig at lave godt indhold, der takler de lidt mere svære emner. At der så også er lydbøger oveni til en billig pris, gør at det er blevet min favorit app.
