Trophy Talk June Special - Fireside Chats

For this month’s extra Sunday the Trophy Talk crew gathers around the virtual campfire to reminisce about some of their favorite trophy lists they recommended on Zac’s incredible project, The Record. We each picked three to highlight and covered why we suggested that more people should play them. Zac starts us off with some that really hit close to our hearts. Then Colin, Max, and Kevin each take turns in sharing some of theirs. One of Colin’s picks is an excellent entry point for a series that most trophy hunters would overlook. Max impresses us with a few lists that seem impossible, but with dedication they can be done. Kevin talks about why he used a duplicate stack for a particular game as a way to show his love for it, and then reveals that another game became a regular obsession for the better part of a decade. Finally, Josh joins in to put the spotlight on some of the best games no one played and we discover a mutual love for one of them. We hope you enjoy this long-form look at some of the games and trophies we recommend people chase. Happy trophy hunting everyone!

Surviving the Horror - Episode 14: Wave 1 Tier List

Hello one and all and welcome back to another episode of Surviving the Horror! This month, we've taken a break from covering a new game for the show and have decided to look back at what we're referring to as "Wave 1" of the show. The first 13 episodes, spanning over a year and a half covered not only some big AAA horror titles like Silent Hill 2 Remake, and Dead Space Remake, but also some smaller indie titles like Crow Country, and Fear the Spotlight. It seemed like now was a great time to revisit these titles and see how we feel about them months removed from the initial recording and play experience. The goal of this episode was to put together a tier list, (ranks S-C) of all the games covered thus far for the show. This way, if anyone is interested in any of the titles they know which ones we held in the highest regard. That isn't to say that the game(s) in C rank of this list are bad games, there's something to love about all of the horror titles we've covered so far, new and old. Anyway, we hope that you enjoy this small trip down memory lane as we prepare for what's to come next this year and beyond. The horror, and survival horror genres are eating good right now with imminent releases of things like Silent Hill f, Alien: Rogue Incursion, Resident Evil: Requiem, Little Nightmares 3, and so many more. You best believe we'll be getting to those titles in due time, along with some surprises and community votes along the way. Thank you so much for listening, and we'll see you in July with our discussion around Silent Hill: Homecoming. Take care!

Mooglecast, Episode 12 I Past Present & Future I An Xbox Discussion

Hello one and all, and welcome back to another episode of Mooglecast! With holiday trips, and schedules being all over the place we have yet another episode for you all where the normally scheduled hosts get shuffled up a bit. This month on Mooglecast Zac is joined by none other than Colin Kolhoven, from Trophy Talk and Surviving the Horror, to discuss a topic that doesn't get enough love in our community, Xbox. Both Zac and Colin have a long history with the ecosystem and consoles, dating back to the original Xbox released on November 15th 2001. It's here that our discussion begins, with the first Xbox console, why we were (or weren't) drawn to it, and what came next. For many trophy hunters, the notion of chasing digital completion lists came with the advent of Xbox 360 in 2005. Xbox for all intents and purposes introduced the world to the notion of "completing" games with achievements that offered in game challenges, a cumulative point system, and a way to brag to your friends and online communities. It seems so strange then that Xbox, which started out it's first two generations so strongly with behemoths like Halo, Gears of War, Morrowind, and Fable, quickly fell from grace in the Xbox One era, and into the early portions of the current gen. As of late though that story has started to change. With multiple massive acquisitions over recent years, Xbox has started to hit it's cadence with regular AAA releases and a plethora of new offerings constantly coming to Game Pass. In essence then, Zac and Colin do their best here to discuss the past, the present, and the future of what Xbox may hold in store. Does its alternate ecosystem to PlayStation perhaps offer a welcome reprieve from constant trophy hunting, and a glimpse into a way that we used to all enjoy games? Maybe so. For context on the current state of Xbox and the future, the boys also go over some of their favorite announcements from the recent Xbox showcase in June of 2025 comparing that shows style and substance with the most recent Sony State of Play. Lastly, as with any Mooglecast episode you can expect updates on The Record, Platinum Shout outs, and a meaty section centering on what we've been playing. We hope that you enjoy the show. Thank you for listening, and be excelling to one another!

PS Plus Game Club - Episode 30: Cult of the Lamb

Zac suggested that we include Cult of the Lamb again for our quarterly vote in the Trophy Talk Discord and it won despite no one else we know playing it (as far as we can tell). We cover our favorite weapons and spells to take on the crusades through the dungeons, what it’s like to build a community with the scarce resources we have, and why it feels terrible to leave our little followers alone while rampaging through another ancient god’s lair. Then we get into the weird, funny, and sometimes disturbing things each of our cultists asked us to do. We also cover what can make this kind of game frustrating if you are trying to see and earn everything it has to offer. Sometimes this kind of game can be too much of a good thing.

Mooglecast, Bonus 3 | State of Play June 25 w/ Kevin & Heera

Warmest of Welcomes everyone and SURPRISE! State of Play returned and myself (Max) and Kevin joined by special guest Heera couldn't help but have a very informal discussion about some of the meaty games that were shown during the mini showcase. Marvel Tokon looks awesome but has Marvel fatigue softened the impact this game could of truely had? Is 007 First Light going to be IO's biggest game ever? Max is truely surprised by the unexpected revival of Metal Gear Online 1 originally released as a multiplayer mode for MGS3:Subsistance for PS2. Tides of Tomorrow reminds Kevin that Tides of Annihilation isn't here. Heera premptively jumps straight into the main topic. We hope you enjoy this silly little bonus show. Be excellent to eachother Max
