Episode 63: Discernment: Spiritual Warfare and God's Word (Part 4)

In this episode we look at the importance of the use of God's word in testing the spirits or discernments received in our mind.  It is a spiritual war.  The enemy (Satan) seeks to deceive the world by taking God's word and slighting twisting it so that mankind does not find the power of putting faith in the purity of God's word.  We will look at the instructions God gives us establishing the word of God as being the foundation to this spiritual battle.  We also examine how the devil sought to deceive Jesus and the churches today.  Passages reviewed:  2 Corinthians 10:1-5;  Ephesians 6:10-18;  Acts 17:10-12;  Mathew 4:1-11;  2 Corinthians 11:1-4, 13-15;  Jude 1:3-4;  1 Timothy 1:3-7, 6:3-9. Episode 62: Discernment (Testimony): Warning against Presuming You have been Born Again (Part 3)

Episode 61: Discernment: Don't Presume Like Abraham (Part 2)

In this part 2 episode on Discernment, we will look at an example with Abraham when his name was still Abram.  Many people have not realized that Abraham presumed and did not fully understand God's promise of how he would bless his descendant.  Abraham presumed at the time that it would be through a son of his seed and not involve his wife Sarah.  Abraham had this deception for almost 25 years until God corrected him when he was 99 years old.  If God let Abraham continue in his presumption, his descendants would have been one of slavery and under a curse and not the descendant of freedom and blessing. Episode 60: Discernment: Listening to God's Voice (Part 1)

In this first part of a series on discernment, we will look at some basic principles.  We know that God speaks to us through convictions by His Holy Spirit.  So that we can be led by the Holy Spirit and not the flesh.  Those who have the Spirit of God can know the thoughts of God.  But God isn't the only one who tries to lead people.  The Devil is also seeking to lead people, but to cause them to stumble.  We must be aware of the two different forces at work. Episode 59: Christ desires you to OVERCOME, are you? (Part 7 - Laodicea)

In this series on OVERCOMING we will be doing a few episodes looking at Jesus' final words to his church.  His desire is for the church to overcome or to conquer.  Now some may think it doesn't really matter in the end, however, Jesus has some stern warnings to some of these churches if they do not overcome or fix the current problem that he sees.  The consequences of not fixing the problem and overcoming are eternal consequences as we will find out as we at each church. Today we will be looking at the church of Laodicea.  This church was had grown complacent.  Unlike Sardis, who was still at least attempting to do good but were doing their works and not being led by the Holy Spirit; Laodicea was doing nothing.  Yet this church thought they were rich.  But God requires us to not only be freed and cleansed from all sin, but also being led by His Spirit to do His will.  Laodicea was complacent thinking they had already received their crown.  God being merciful and loving is giving this church another change to repent so that she can overcome and receive the eternal reward..
