Welcome to the very first episode of the Fly Like A Girl podcast.
We’re Bri and Kat.
Two paragliders, travel partners, and friends who’ve dragged our paragliders across six continents and somehow managed to keep each other laughing the whole time. This show is the thing we both wish had existed when we were just getting started.
Women in the air have stories worth telling, and right now there’s no real place to hear them.
Whether you’re a seasoned pilot, newly P2’d and terrified, or just sky-curious and wondering what it would feel like to head off a mountain, you’re in the right place.
In this first episode, we introduce ourselves, talk about why we started this thing, and tell the origin story of how we became friends (spoiler: it involves a Salt Lake City wine night, homemade grape wine of unknown strength, and one of us forcing the other to leave her basement apartment).
Just because the word “girl” is in the name doesn’t mean this space is exclusive. We wouldn’t be the pilots we are today without the dudes in our corner. The flying community grows when everyone shows up for each other, regardless of gender. This podcast is for the women flying, the people who love them, the beginners who don’t know where to start, and the 20-year veterans who’ve got stories the rest of us need to hear. The sky belongs to everybody, and so does this show.
