A Conversation with Jan Canterbury

What makes your heart heavy and how are you holding it? We had a magical live conversation with Jan Canterbury - a full circle moment for many of us. We explore her upbringing in the Mid-West, the ironies of environmental politics, the synchronicities that shape our journeys, and the flows of joy and grief that weave through. Jan is an environmental scientist, weaver of community and an activist. As a young person, she loved nature and knew her calling - working for USEPA, co-founding two non-profits, starting eco-comedy and eco-tragedy groups, producing documentaries, writing articles and guidebooks on environmental issues, and facilitating workshops & speaking at conferences on climate change around the world (among many other things!). What does it mean to live simply in the world we exist in? In our live conversation with Ellenie Faith, a young representational artist, we explore reconnection to Earth, being in touch with our creativity, and honouring human connection. Her love of nature, simple living, animals and the connections between us are her main inspirations. Over the last year she has exhibited throughout Australia, recently spending ten days as an artist in residence creating portraits from life.
