Open Yourself Up To The Unknown

Morning Mantra: "The person that made the map, had no map." Let that sink in.  The unknown.   The big scary unknown will only be known if it is explored.  Until you step into the unknown you will never know what you are made of.  Until you go where you've never been it will stay a mystery. So whether it's a career, traveling, learning, training your horse, exploring your past, or whatever is unknown to you, do it now.  Explore as much as you can, as far as you can, for as long as you can. Because the day will come when you can't. Remind yourself when the fear sets in that you've done things before that were new, that you weren't sure of, that felt scary.  And then look at the ways you grew from them.  How much you learned about yourself. I will never be satisfied with life as I know it.  I truly believe that the only way to experience life fully is to open yourself up to what scares you, what is unknown. Then, only then, can we grow. Can we become fully who we are meant to be. It’s Going to Workout

Take the Reins

Morning Mantra: “If you don’t take the reins, it’s going to stay the same. Nothin’s gonna change if you don’t change it.”  This quote by Dolly Parton perfectly describes how WE must help ourselves, take action, and do something to move ourselves in a better direction.  I have known a few people that complain about their lives, jobs, relationship, fitness, health and so on, but they rarely DO anything to change it. They have a problem for every solution. It’s helpful to recognize where things need to change, but that needs to be followed up with action.  Start by writing down a goal. Then break it down into tiny actionable steps.   If you don’t know what the steps are, research, ask, or guess. Normalize Saying “I’m sorry “

Morning Mantra: "Normalize saying 'I'm Sorry."  Let's change the script.  Let's normalize apologizing after we are wrong instead of being defensive and disrespectful because we are embarrassed.  When a person tells you that you hurt them, you don't get to decide that you didn't. Let's hear other people from where they are, instead of from where we are.  Let's not negate their feelings so we can feel okay. Let's listen with the intent of understanding, not with the intent of responding, defending or projecting.  Don't gas light and make it about how they are reacting to what you did instead of apologizing for it. Saying "I'm sorry" is the first step in opening communication.  It's just two words. Embracing the Unknown

Morning Mantra:  "Embrace the unknown in life, for it is there you will discover your true potential." See if you can view the unknown not as something to fear, but as something to love.  Try to see it as a blank canvas of possibilities and get excited about the infinite potential in not knowing what comes next.  If you are really serious about change then you must go through the uncomfortable process of not knowing.  Because growth lives in the unknown.  Changing jobs and not sure you will like it?  Only way to find out is to go through it.   Moving to a different state and worried you won't find new friends? You have to do it to see.  You have to face the possibility, then grow to meet the challenge.  For staying where you are, and clinging to what you know, will never allow you to meet your best self. I hope that when the time comes for you to step onto the unexplored path in front of you, you greet it not as an enemy, but as a friend.
