8 episodesAre they or aren't they expensive?! I think the jury rests on kids being expensive, worth it, and expensive. I co-host episodes of the Mile High Fi podcast and felt this one was very relevant to life today. Hopefully you will get a glimpse into how to prep a little for having a child, or for when your friend has a child. Listen in while Doug and I chat about managing finances during such an unpredictable and transformative time. * Unexpected costs * Panic buying Amazon products at 2:00AM * Things I didn't expect to buy but did * How to be a good friend to a new parent * Gift giving advice (hint: it isn't clothes) * The importance of monitoring your mental health postpartum If you are enjoying this podcast, don't forget to leave a written review! I am actually back and I had a baby. Have you ever been given life changing news? 6 weeks ago I was told I might not walk for a few weeks to a couple months. I was told that when I started walking, I might not feel normal for at least 3-4 months. I have exceeded expectations and started walking at 2 weeks unassisted, though the pain in my glute limits how long I can walk for. Childbirth always comes with risks, but you never think that you are going to be the person who has complications. Join me while I recount my journey from an easy and amazing home birth to spending 6 days in the hospital. * The Decision for a Home Birth * Post-Birth Complications * The Hospital Experience * Recovery Process * Gratitude and Reflection * Life and Finances * Looking Ahead If you are enjoying this podcast, don't forget to leave a written review! When was the last time you talked about death? Death should be an open, and honest conversation with friends, family and loved ones. Our guest, June, is a former hospice chaplain and grief counselor. This topic isn't for everyone, and I encourage you to get outside your comfort zone and listen in while we discuss the very taboo topic. Let's reflect together on how a deeper understanding of our feelings around death may help us to live a fuller, more passionate life. June and I share personal stories and insights into grief, offering tips to help you confront your fears to approach death with acceptance and peace. As always, you will get some important information around preparing for death financially and emotionally. * Creating living wills * Power of attorney forms * General financial preparations * How to grieve If you are enjoying this podcast, don't forget to leave a written review! Life is a beautiful thing and it is full of opportunities to learn and grow. It also sometimes sucks, but that's okay too. This week is all about me, Amberly. I want to share with you a bit about my life philosophies that sometimes serve me well, and sometimes they get me into trouble. Like the idea of Jump In Feet First. It is such a great way to keep learning, growing and changing but sometimes, you are three weeks late on publishing a podcast because you have "jumped in feet first" to a lot of things. Through personal stories, I hope to share a little of my life's learnings and give you a bit of insight into my world. I always encourage you to take action on one thing you learn and continue to adapt to lead a rewarding and fulfilling life. Join me as I tell you a bit more about some of my life philosophies! * Look to others to see where you are headed. * Take responsibility. * Build the parachute on the way down. * How you do anything is how you do everything.
