Vito, @8bitbarrister, joins me this week in his long requested episode to revisit the movies and games of Indiana Jones! Indy's first adventure in gaming was way back in 1982 with Raiders of the Lost Ark on the Atari 2600 and we're uncovering the history and chronicling some of his greatest, and in some cases, worst journeys. An archaeological aural tour wouldn't be complete if we didn't talk about the films either, so we dive into the history of the series and revisit most of the games that tried to adapt those stories. Episode 86: Duke Nukem 3D

Come get some! This week we're hailing to the king and uncovering the history and impact of 1996's Duke Nukem 3D. Duke originally started with a couple of side-scrolling platform shooters and once Apogee saw DOOM in 1993, they realized it was time to bring him into the world of 3D. From there, they renamed themselves 3D Realms and eventually released one of the earliest examples of an immersive first-person shooter based on familiar real world locations. Episode 84: Die Hard (with Vito)

Die Hard is among the most iconic action movies ever made and spawned a surprising amount of games beginning with the NES in 1992, a pair of iconic 32-bit releases with Die Hard Arcade and Die Hard Trilogy, and up to a disastrous and troubled Gamecube release in Die Hard: Vendetta. Episode 83: Super Mario RPG

In 1996, Square and Nintendo decided to collaborate and create one of the Super Nintendo's last great games. Super Mario RPG masterfully weaved the action-platforming Mario was known for with Square's incredible JRPG gameplay. The result was one of the more interactive RPGs that broken the static conventions of the genre and introduced a battle system that had much broader appeal than anything Square had done with the iconic Final Fantasy series.
