About Let Me Ask You This

The Let Me Ask You This podcast with Ebie Hepworth is an altar of conversations, a faith-filled space for honest dialogue with thoughtful guests, real stories, and the kind of vulnerability that invites transformation. Together, we explore how Jesus meets us in the real and unpolished places of life, leading us with steady, unshakeable hope. These conversations are recorded in real time and reflect personal perspectives that may grow and change. They are offered as an invitation to reflect, not as absolute truth or professional advice.

episode “Fail, Thrive, Yes” w/ Lisa Jennett artwork

“Fail, Thrive, Yes” w/ Lisa Jennett

Lisa Jennett [https://www.instagram.com/lisamomosunshine/]is one of those people who makes you feel more alive the minute you start talking with her. She carries joy, honesty, grit, and the kind of faith that does not require you to pretend life is easier than it is. She is a voice of encouragement, creativity, and deep spiritual honesty.  In this episode, Lisa and I talk about what it means to be fully human with God. We talk about joy, grief, forgiveness, disappointment, and what happens when faith has to meet real life in the middle of the mess. We talk about the invitation to “be all the way human,” the tenderness of learning that “it’s going to be alright,” and the holy, messy, beautiful process of saying yes to God again and again. This conversation is honest, funny, tender, and deeply freeing. I hope it reminds you that you do not have to perform your way into joy. You are allowed to be human. You are allowed to be in process. And somehow, even here, it really is going to be alright. episode The Myth of Bouncing Back w/ Charaia Rush artwork

The Myth of Bouncing Back w/ Charaia Rush

In this episode, I had the joy of sitting down with Charaia Rush [https://www.instagram.com/charaiarush/], a writer and speaker based in Colorado and the author of Courageously Soft and her newest book, The Myth of Bouncing Back. Charaia carries such a rare and needed voice for this generation. She speaks with tenderness, grit, honesty, and deep spiritual wisdom for those of us who are learning how to stay soft without pretending life has not been hard. In this conversation, we unpack the lies we often believe about resilience, especially the idea that strength means quickly getting over what hurt us. Charaia speaks so beautifully to the slow, sacred work of grief and the importance of lament as part of healing. We talk about what it means to bring our honest sorrow before God, how to stop rushing our own recovery, and why true resilience is not pretending we are fine, but allowing God to meet us in the places where we are most undone. In her newest book, The Myth of Bouncing Back [https://www.amazon.com/Myth-Bouncing-Back-Ditching-Resilience/dp/B0GWFX5LVX/ref=sr_1_1?crid=21Q7WT078T2BG&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.UKtmwDSGttAi4H5zYSAenXjyqesMiB7GOsfIq6-jsmPGjHj071QN20LucGBJIEps._tD9qNo8VZt1hKpIH545bC1R70NmMArgMmEjz0MYRws&dib_tag=se&keywords=the+myth+of+bouncing+back&qid=1778710373&sprefix=the+myth+of+bouncing+bac%2Caps%2C215&sr=8-1], Charaia offers a much-needed reframe around resilience. Instead of treating resilience like the ability to snap back into who we were before the heartbreak, before the failure, before the grief, before the loss, she invites us to consider something far more honest and far more holy: maybe healing is not about bouncing back at all. Maybe it is about learning how to rise for real. Her book walks readers through the process of lamenting, learning to stand again, rebuilding a beautiful life, and discovering who we are becoming on the other side of life’s hardest falls.  I pray this conversation gives you permission to stop rushing your process, to bring your lament honestly before God, and to believe that even here, even now, even slowly, you can rise again. This conversation is offered for reflection, encouragement, and exploration, and is not intended to replace professional, medical, mental health, legal, or therapeutic advice. episode Friendship That Comforts, Calls Out, and Carries w/ Ebie + Anjel artwork

Friendship That Comforts, Calls Out, and Carries w/ Ebie + Anjel

My best friend, who is sunshine embodied, Anjel Murphy flips the script and takes the host seat in today’s episode, and what unfolds is less of an interview and more of an honest, unfiltered conversation between two friends who have walked through a lottttt of life together. As you can probably imagine, we don’t stay on one straight path for long. But somewhere in the middle of it all, we find ourselves unpacking the sacred, stretching, and sometimes messy beauty of friendship. From the fine line between deep love and co-dependency, to what it looks like to call each other higher and disagree.   There’s something profoundly holy about having people in your life who won’t just sit beside you in your pain, but who will lovingly, faithfully lower you into the presence of the Lord when you don’t have the strength to get there on your own. This episode is a little bit everywhere… but also exactly where it needed to go. And truly, it wouldn’t be a conversation between Anjel and I if it wasn’t. ;)  A Gentle Reminder: This podcast is rooted in real, human conversations -- captured in a moment in time. The thoughts shared here are not meant to be prescriptive or absolute, but an invitation to explore, reflect, and engage more deeply in your own relationship with God. We’re so grateful you’re here.

episode Digging Wells With God artwork

Digging Wells With God

How do you sit down with the Hepworth’s to talk about prayer without quoting Tim Keller every five minutes? Apparently, you don’t. LOL Sorry, not sorry!  In this episode, Zac and I open up a deeply honest, unpolished conversation about prayer. Not as a formula to master, but as a relationship to return to, again, and again, and again. We explore the beauty and purity of prayer when it’s stripped of performance and pressure, and rediscovered as an ongoing, living conversation with God. This episode is an invitation… not to pray perfectly, but to pray honestly. To come back to Scripture as a steady anchor. To remember that even in silence, even in fatigue, even in unmet longing… God is still near, still listening, still inviting us to converse with Him.  A Gentle Reminder: This podcast is rooted in real, human conversations -- captured in a moment in time. The thoughts shared here are not meant to be prescriptive or absolute, but an invitation to explore, reflect, and engage more deeply in your own relationship with God. We’re so grateful you’re here.

episode You Are More Creative Than You Think w/ Charis Meyers artwork

You Are More Creative Than You Think w/ Charis Meyers

Today I’m joined by my friend Charis Meyers, a Boise-based graphic designer, artist, and all-around beautiful human, who opens up about her journey of embracing her inner artist and the freedom that has come with it. We talk about the quiet but powerful truth that creativity isn’t reserved for a select few… it’s woven into every single one of us. And when we ignore it, we often feel it. When we suppress it, something in us starts to dim. But when we give it expression, even in small ways, something comes alive again. If you’ve ever thought “I’m not creative,” this episode is especially for you. And if you’re local to Boise and in need of graphic design support, Charis is incredibly gifted at what she does.
