Please reach out to those in your Parish to celebrate with them, offer your continued prayers for them, or invite them to parish events.  Accompanying one another in the faith is essential, the readings will remind us today. In our busy world when it is easy to feel disconnected and alone, being with one another is a powerful way to be a vessel through which Christ proclaims his promise to never leave us. By sitting with one another in times of grief, listening to the questions of a friend who is struggling, or rejoicing with a friend in response to good news, we accompany each other through life’s ups and downs. In whatever ways possible, we are called to accompany another in their journey of faith, we do so with the promise that Christ is doing the same for us.   Please remember in your prayers our brother Henry who is grieving the loss of father.  Support the show [https://www.buzzsprout.com/224168/support]

WE ARE PILGRIMS: 7TH SUNDAY OF EASTER 2026

This Sunday the readings remind us that our true home is not in this life - a reminder that this life is a journey - a pilgrimage to our final destination- our homeland in Heaven.  In the 1st reading the Apostles after witnessing the Ascension of Jesus, made the journey from the mountain to Jerusalem. In the 2nd reading we are reminded that this pilgrimage to heaven is not an easy one but one full of spiritual dangers and suffering. And in the gospel Jesus assures us that we are not alone in this journey- Not only does He provide food for this journey - the Holy Eucharist He is says He is praying for us. He will also send us the Holy Spirit to guide and strengthen us along the way. On the week before Pentecost, let us pray for the grace to be docile to the Holy Spirit so that we can hurry the way to our true home in heaven.
