Have you ever wanted to live in LA but aren’t sure the best way to go about moving or pursuing your dreams? Listen up! This is an insightful yet fun conversation that gets to the truth of living in LA and secret ways to get where you want to be in LA. On today’s episode of Stay Curious, Stay Kind I sit down with one of my first and closest friends from LA, Charles. Charles Gageby M.S., BCBA, is a dedicated professional with a dynamic journey, from twirling on the dance floor since age 6 to navigating the challenges of growing up gay in a conservative Midwest town. Charles landed in the vibrant city of Los Angeles after finding solace in movement and embracing his authenticity. He continues to dance through life, sharing unique experiences while making a significant impact in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). Serving as a Practicum Instructor, clinical director, and consultant, Charles collaborates with various entities to provide personalized interventions for neurodiverse individuals. Known for his compassionate and family-centered approach, he actively promotes diversity, equity, and inclusion in his work. Our discussion today delves into the struggles of living in LA and the realities behind its illustrious facade.
Welcome back to my podcast, Stay Curious, Stay Kind! I’m your host, Danielle Rose and today I'm sitting down with one of my closest friends Della Downey. We met right before the pandemic through work in Los Angeles. I immediately connected with her and she is someone who helped me get into my healing journey! Love you for that, sis <3 Della Downey was born and raised in New Jersey and brought her talent and love for music to Los Angeles. From stealing the mic to sing the Italian version of Ave Maria when she was 3 at a wedding to performing singles Upgrade and Again from her debut EP ‘Love, Yours Truly’, at Los Globos, a love for music has always been a part of Della’s life. She’s been inspired by her mother Sherrie Downey’s perseverance, and the support in all of her endeavors that she shows. Della was raised and lives her life in the reflection of love and compassion. You can hear it in her music which is currently on all platforms. Multifaceted, Della also has her bachelors degree in photography which she received amidst her pursuit in music. She also is honing her craft in hip hop, and heels dances, e-commerce modeling, and creative direction. We’re looking forward to hearing what she’s got for us in 2024. Today we talk about healing from people pleasing tendencies, finding closure after a relationship, attachment styles and how to go from friends to lovers! And since this is still the beginning process of my podcast there will inevitable be some hiccups… so unfortunately, my recording equipment overheated for the first part of this podcast and it is no where to be found :( BUT I felt this conversation was too good to not share. I hope you can find something in here that you resonate with and maybe something you needed to hear today. Stay Curious, Stay Kind! Welcome to Stay Curious, Stay Kind, a podcast I created to ask the deep questions I love asking. In this episode, I get a chance to sit down with my incredible friend Miller Daurey. Miller is a former professional teen dancer who quit dance at 19 — just when his career was really taking off. In his docuseries, Back To Great, he explores returning to dance training 3 decades later and all that entails. It’s his hope to inspire and remind others… it’s never too late to go back to something you once loved. Today we talk about what it's like training at Millennium Dance Complex, finding comfort in trusting the universe and learning how to stay true to yourself. (Please excuse the lowish quality of sound - I pushed the wrong button on my mics before we started recording ugh BUT this episode was too good not to post. I hope you can still enjoy and get something from this conversation!) Here's where you can find Miller: Instagram: @backtogreat TikTok: @backtogreat YouTube: @BackToGreat ALSO huge shoutout to my editor and big bro, Adam, for creating my intro and outro music!! Check out all his social medias as well @muzikm4n
