Talking About...Bjork ‘93 to ‘01

Bjork is unlike any other musician, unconventional, independent and constantly pushing the boundaries of music! We’re exploring her first four solo albums, from Debut to Vespertine, but also looking at everything before, including her first record, punk and The Sugarcubes amongst other things. Gareth, James and Phil discuss their history with these albums and share some insights in to their lives growing up in Essex. We’ll also see whether James and Gareth can work out the Bjork lyrics from the A.I’s in our lyric game! Talking About...Television

Recorded in July 2025. We’ve headed to New York in the 70’s! Television had a relatively short career but influenced many, from Joy Division to Sonic Youth. We’ll take a look at the New York scene and their two albums from the 70’s and the third and final album from the 90’s. Talking about...Nirvana

Yes! Recorded in June 2025, next up on the Talking About journey...NIRVANA!!! This band had a huge influence on us as well as millions around the world. They changed music forever and are arguably one of the most important bands of the last 40 years. We dive into how that happened and ask the question, what would Nirvana sound like now if they were still together? We have no guest this week but the recruitment team have been on fine form and delved into the transfer market to make one of the smartest transfers since Eric Cantona joined Manchester United from Leeds back in the early nineties.  Gareth (our guest from Episode 1) impressed us so much that we’ve recruited him as co-host to help us turn the podcast world on its head! So James and Gareth will battle it out in the lyrics game again and there is plenty of tomfoolery to match!
