(Do) Wait.

Waiting oftentimes is one of the hardest things we have to do. To wait implies pausing; however, to do anything gives the notion of action, which is why I applaud waiting, and I don't look at it in a negative way. It takes courage and patience to keep going while the "things" we want aren't in our view. When we wait, we are embodying a faith in ourselves and we're saying that we believe in the outcome of our deepest desire. Waiting is work. Waiting involves movement. Waiting stems from faith. Waiting allows us to anticipate the "thing" so that when we meet up to what we've been waiting for, it feels natural to be there. You know it was always meant to be. I would almost go as far as to say, waiting doesn't exist. If you're busy in the momentum of life, it truly won't feel like waiting. It will feel more like living. Quote: Waiting time is not wasting time. Waiting patiently in expectation is the foundation of the spiritual life. Henri Nouwen Infuse your life with action. Don't wait for it to happen. Make it happen. Make your own future. Make your own hope. Make your own love. And whatever your beliefs, honor your creator, not by passively waiting for grace to come down from upon high, but by doing what you can to make grace happen... yourself, right now, right down here on Earth. Bradley Whitford Song Wait by Alex Isley- Listen Here: Mantra when you find it hard to live in the illusion of waiting: "Each step is taking me to where I want to be."

episode I Know There Was (Is) Love artwork

I Know There Was (Is) Love

When we spend time in the past- worrying about what we could have done better or different, we give away unnecessary power. I'm not saying we won't think about situations, times, or people that are behind us, because for many, that almost seems impossible. What I am saying is if you find yourself going "back," then at least give the memory the honor it deserves. I used to have a bad habit of sitting in what was, and it would literally immobilize me from doing anything in my present life and scare me away from what could be a better future for myself. Instead, I'd sit and mull over what I could have done differently or how a certain person or situation could have been kinder to me. I eventually learned how to give to my past was the love that I'd put into it. Like when we meditate, when unwanted thoughts come into the mind, we acknowledge the thought and then go back to the breath. I use the same principle when the past creeps up on me. I recognize it and remember MY PART in the situation. I allow myself to know that I gave those moments the best parts of me that I had AT THAT TIME. We are constantly evolving- we aren't even the same people we were yesterday, so when I approach seemingly negative situations that happened in my past, I honor them with love, and I allow myself to relax in the fact that - that was then. After I embrace that truth, I quickly refocus back to the now. We always give what we are capable of giving- even if we don't realize it. Yes, that capability may seem minimal, but it doesn't detract from the fact that at that moment, it was OUR very best. So, remember to honor your part in your past. Other people's parts don't matter; you can't change people or what they may have done. Show love to your past self. You were doing the best that you could with what you had at that time. Then, Come back to right now. Right now is all that truly matters. Your biggest cheerleader and God's daughter, Roe "There is a fine balance between honoring the past and losing yourself in it. For example, you can acknowledge and learn from mistakes you made, and then move on and refocus on the now. It is called forgiving yourself." Eckhart Tolle Mediation mantra to release your thoughts from the past: "I Choose to Release What Does Not Serve Me Right Now" Lyrics "I Know There Was Love" Lean not on your own understanding I don't understand (I don't understand) Mind games mentally demanding So many demands (So many demands) Broken open Still hopin' something will change Growin', holdin' on They're not the same At least I know there was love Full Song Here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5uSiVKghe8c [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5uSiVKghe8c] Podcast Music by tobylane from Pixabay & blmabson from Pixabay Sponsorships: off for this episode

episode Energy. artwork

Energy.

First of all, I hope listening to Energy by Keri Hilson took you back in a good way. I can still remember the video and thinking whoever wrote this song definitely went through some thangs!! lol. All jokes aside, the energy that we choose to share every day is extremely precious and if we don't pay attention to the people and the situations that we're around we can easily become drained. I can remember when I wrote this journal entry and decided to share, I was so thankful for being in a place in my life, at this moment, where MY energy is openly available to people and situations where it's actually appreciated. We have to be intentional when it comes to how much of ourselves we're willing to give. When you find yourself in a space where you feel depleted or drained, it may not be how much you're giving, but where and to whom you're giving. A good way to pause and think about how you're utilizing your energy is to ask yourself, am I giving (happily) in areas in my life where I can happily and openly receive. The receiving doesn't have to be tangible. We receive emotionally, spiritually, and mentally. Are you receiving at least one of these attributes from situations and people where you consistently GIVE away pieces of yourself? As the lyrics in the Energy by Keri Hilson says: Now I can feel a change in me (change in me) And I can't afford to slip much further From the person I meant to be (woah) I'm not afraid to walk alone Not givin' up for movin' on Before it gets too deep 'Cause you're takin' all of my energy From your biggest cheerleader, and God's daughter :) Roe Podcast Music by tobylane from Pixabay & blmabson from Pixabay Song Lyrics - Energy Written by Biancaniello Louis John / Watters Samuel J / Butler Richard Preston / Wilkins Wayne Andrew **Song Energy By Keri Hilson Can Only Be Heard If Listening To The Podcast Through Spotify.**

episode Love Not Longing artwork

Love Not Longing

Sadness is part illusion. At least, that's what I believe. When we feel down about something, it's usually because we feel lack in an aspect of our lives which, believe it or not, is completely controllable. I know most of you have heard the saying, it's not what happens to you, but instead, it's how you react to what happens to you. When dealing with emotions, especially those that make you depressed or unhappy, it seems almost impossible to focus on the positive. However, what I've found to be true is that when I choose to focus on the loving aspect of any situation that is making me feel sad, I can quickly turn that sadness into a level of joy. It all starts with gratitude and having a deep understanding that, we are how we feel…but then to go even deeper, we are how we think. If we believe something is bad or allow ourselves to feel miserable, we will be. Instead, I choose to search for the love in everything. Love is at the core of every single thing in life. Even hate. People feel hate because they love something else more. While learning this and living by this principle isn't easy- I'm still learning every day- I've noticed such a change in my attitude because I've allowed myself to regain control. Sadness is just our spirit's way of yearning for joy. So focus on that joy- and stay in it. Give yourself permission to know that the love you crave, or the love you already hold in your heart for your family, career, self, etc., is ALL you should believe in because those emotions- the love, or the sadness, will BECOME who you are. If you're interested in things like the art of attraction or manifestation, these principles I'm speaking on won't seem foreign to you. People like Abraham Hicks and Buddhist teachings taught by Thich Nhat Hanh talk about being in the now, loving in the now, and the art of interbeing. "People deal too much with the negative, with what is wrong. Why not try and see positive things, to just touch those things and make them bloom?" - Quote Thich Nhat Hanh "Look for good things about where you are, and in your state of appreciation, you lift all self-imposed limitations – and all limitations are self-imposed – and you free yourself for the receiving of wonderful things."
