On this episode I have Jake Case Jake is a naturalist, writer, and landscape photographer based in Arizona.  Jake is passionate about the natural world, he studied geography and geology during his time at Northern Arizona University. Jake has worked as a tour guide at the Grand Canyon South Rim and a park ranger for the National Park Service at Lake Powell.  Jake worked as a tour guide at Frank Lloyd Wright’s famed Taliesin West, where he specialized in leading the Desert Walk Tour.  Through stories and photography, Jake’s goal is to illuminate the wonders of nature and science  in the American Southwest. Jake likes to uncover the stories hidden in the canyons, deserts, and mountains  in Arizona & beyond! On this episode Joe D’Agostino Joe is a photographer based in New Jersey   Joe grew up surfing, skateboarding and studying Jiu Jitsu and For the past 24 years Joe has worked as a police officer where he serves as SWAT Team Commander and Law Enforcement Sniper. He has helped spearhead the resiliency program at his police department which helps first responders understand and cope with the effects of PTSD. Joe has been a contributing writer for FujiLove magazine and has had his work featured in numerous periodicals.   One of the most important reasons for Joe’s body of work can be attributed to the therapeutic nature of photography. He has found that spending more than half of his life in a career that can often expose the horrors in life, photography allows him to look at the world through different eyes. Finding the beauty in everyday life helps Joe control his own journey with PTSD. Joe believes that photography is a journey on a road that has no ending but can only be traveled. On this episode I have Scott Bourne Scott is a semi-retired professional photographer with 50 years of photography experience.  Scott was an Olympus Visionary and professional wildlife photographer, author and lecturer who specializes in birds and his work has appeared in more than 200 publications.   He is a pioneer in the digital photography and online space and was named one of the 30 most influential photographers on the Web by Huffington Post. Scott was one of the first photographers ever to receive the designation Apple Certified Professional Trainer (T3) for Apple’s Aperture. He also previously held the designation Certified Adobe Photoshop Instructor and Professional Photographers of America’s Certified Professional Photographer designation. Scott was recently awarded the designation Signed Master with the Studio Of Masters in China and is the author of several photography books. On this episode I have J. Aggabao  J is currently the Associate Athletic Director at Santa Clara and an extremely talented self described hobbyist photographer.  J most recently served as the senior manager of football performance at the Mamba Sports Academy where he oversaw all aspects of performance for the Elite Football programs, including the NFL Combine/Draft prep, NFL offseason, and special projects such as Bishop Alemany Football Strength & Conditioning. J served as the head strength and conditioning coach for the Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League from 2017-18. The team earned the 2017 Grey Cup Championship. From 2013-17, he was a strength and conditioning coach for the St. Louis/Los Angeles Rams. J and I talk about one fateful night where answering the phone saved his life, his passion for what he does and what picking up the camera brings to his life. On this episode I have Devin Allen Devin is a self-taught artist who gained national attention when his photograph of the Baltimore Uprising was published on the cover of TIME in May 2015. A native of Baltimore, Devin achieved a rare feat as only the third amateur photographer TIME selected to feature on its cover. In 2017, he was named the first fellow of the Gordon Parks Foundation Fellowship and was nominated for an NAACP Image Award as a debut author for his book, A Beautiful Ghetto (Haymarket Books). Devin was chosen to serve as a 2020 Ambassador for Leica Camera AG; and following the untimely deaths of George Floyd, Tony McDade, and Breonna Taylor, TIME once again acknowledged and honored Devin’s artistry by selecting one of his images from a Black Trans Lives Matter protest to grace the cover of their June 2020 issue. Devin’s powerful imagery of Black life has been featured in New York Magazine, The New York Times, The Washington Post, and Aperture. His photography is also featured in permanent collections at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History & Culture, the Reginald F. Lewis Museum, the Jule Collins Smith Museum, and The Studio Museum in Harlem. His new book—No Justice, No Peace: From the Civil Rights Movement to Black Lives Matter—was released in October 2022 under the Legacy Lit imprint of Hachette Book Group.
