1 - Kristen Channel - Marketing as community building: relationships first, revenue second
I sit down to talk with Kristen Channel. As a professional in the advertising field, she has powerful insights and experience with leading with your values and being authentic. Not always so easy in a capitalist advertising industry that’s been prone to manipulative psychological tricks to get you to buy. Rather than creating the sale, Kristen’s copywriting is meant to create relationships. We discuss white privilege and #BLM, authenticity, and her journey of spiritual exploration.
Kristin’s bio:
Kristen Channel is the CEO of Channel Creative, a copywriting and editorial firm near Iowa City, Iowa.
With empathy, humor, and a dash of saltiness, she helps her web copywriting clients speak to their people with radical clarity and courage. Her specialty is working with multi-passionate entrepreneurs with multiple brands, and businesses that want to market effectively to women ages 40-60 (the invisible market with a lot of $$$).
As a non-fiction book editor, she helps authors improve their writing and storytelling while maintaining their unique voice. A graduate of the University of Iowa’s Non-Fiction Program, she understands the vulnerability of asking for feedback and sending your writing out into the world, and prides herself on her ability to offer assistance with kindness and wit so it doesn’t hurt a bit.

David Gustafson is a striver and seeker, and wants to help others to live in true abundance and love - the kind of love and abundance that you have to give away if you want to keep. Currently in certification programs to be a Holistic Life Coach and a Certified Yoga Teacher, he wants to promote other healing practitioners and all seekers, to find their voice and share it fearlessly. And, maybe along the way, he’ll be able to share his voice fearlessly as well.
He would love to hear from you.
