The Reclusive Blogger... Interviews Kase Wickman, Joanna Weiss, and Moira McAvoy authors of 'Taylor Swift Album by Album'

And we’re back. Yes, it’s has been a long hiatus and unfortunately one I didn’t expect to take. So to start I want to do something a little different and just post the audio as is. I feel this conversation is best left as a conversation. While I won’t go into it much detail why I’ve been away for so long. Much of it was due to being displaced for most of the year because of the Eaton Fire and bouncing from hotel to hotel. This was even taped at one. Anyway, I’m back home now and I feel blessed to be one of the few that still have a home. I taped this interview some weeks ago with the authors of the book, ‘Taylor Swift Album by Album’ book, prior to her album release, and well all ensuing commentary. As I stated before I love how they approached they book and researched it, which you’ll hear in the audio. I also think anyone who just loves music and songwriting in general will love this book and conversation in general too not just Taylor Swift fans. Swifties though, will love the dedication to detail though. The podcast background is the Tarantula Nebula Photo Credit: Christine Tasto Hey, pod friends! :) It’s Brittney and back with another episode from The Reclusive Blogger… Interviews. For today’s episode here we’ve got a cool one. that. If you’re a NASA and space nerd like me I think you’ll love this! Before I get started and introduce my guest for the episode I wanted to thank everyone who has continued to listen and subscribe. It truly means the world to mean that you enjoy my content. For this interview, I’ve done a 180 and switched gears from music to film, to speak with documentary filmmaker Nathaniel Kahn on my podcast.  You may know him from his previous work such as ‘My Architect’ (a documentary about his father), architect Louis Kahn, or ‘The Hunt for Planet B’. Now with his latest documentary the masterful IMAX film, “Deep Sky”, he explores the making of the JWST, aka the James Webb Space Telescope. A telescope that has produced some of the most beautiful, underworldly images ever, but the most important images ever, allowing us to see how our planet and solar system began. So, yes, technically, galaxies far, far away. You can read the full documentary synopsis below. Deep Sky Sypnosis: “The highly anticipated documentary, Deep Sky, brings the awe-inspiring images captured by NASA's Webb Telescope to IMAX® — taking audiences on a journey to the beginning of time and space, to never-before-seen cosmic landscapes, and to recently discovered exoplanets, planets around other stars.  Deep Sky follows the high-stakes global mission to build JWST and to launch it into orbit one-million miles from Earth, in an attempt to answer questions that have haunted us since the beginning of time: Where did we come from? How did the universe begin? Are we alone? 13 billion years in the making, “Deep Sky” reveals the universe as we have never seen it before; immersing audiences in the stunning pictures beamed back to earth by NASA’s new telescope — and capturing their vast beauty at a scale that can only be experienced on the giant IMAX screen.” In this hour-long discussion we not only talk about his latest work Deep Sky, thoughts on JWST, working with IMAX, and the film’s narrator, actress Michelle Williams, his filmmaking career, influences, and much more. This is the perfect episode to settle in with a cup of tea (or coffee), and a snack, then just hit play. This is perfect for those who like to listen on a long journey/ride home! You know who you are… Lastly, I’d like to thank Jenna Wilen for facilitating the conversation and Nathaniel Kahn for taking time out and speaking with me. I am looking forward to our next conversation. Deep Sky is out now in over 300 commercial IMAX theatres nationwide. Be sure not to miss it! The Reclusive Blogger... Interviews | Andy Tongren of Young Rising Sons

Hey, everyone! It’s Brittney here, and I’m back with a new episode from The Reclusive Blogger… Interviews. It’s been a long time since my last episode, and it’s my first one of 2024. So, I feel it’s best to get right into it, so for this episode, I spoke with the frontman of Young Rising Sons [https://www.instagram.com/youngrisingsons/], Andy Tongren. The band is in the middle of touring, and we chatted on one of their days off. They will be headed to Los Angeles to play at the Lodge Room [https://www.lodgeroomhlp.com/shows/young-rising-sons/] in Highland Park on the 26th of April. We also talked about touring, their latest single (and music video) for (Un)Happy Hour [https://stem.ffm.to/unhappyhour], and their longevity as a band due in part to their underlying friendship. In their career thus far, Young Rising Sons have amassed over 400k monthly Spotify listeners and accumulated over 100 million streams with notable tracks, SAD (Clap Your Hands), King of the World, Carry On, and In My Room, which have now become fan favorites and hitmakers. The band also has an extensive touring history, which includes sharing stages with artists and bands such as Halsey, The 1975, The Neighborhood, and Weezer.  The Reclusive Blogger On Substack is a reader-supported publication.
